I believe, for some dashcams, you have to do specific wiring to take advantage of all of their functions. As an example, I own a Thinkware. I can (in that a cord is provided) simply plug it into a 12v power outlet and it'll work just fine driving. BUT, if you want to activate their parking mode...
I gave up on my dealer...purchased the 2 missing middle ones from @LevittownFordParts.com . I started to install my SwingCase and, "oops" (family version "quote"). I figured I'll need the ties for future beach trips...
I installed by Q800 pro yesterday and it worked fine with 29 and 37. I have '19 but I think you'd be correct that they didn't change the fuses. Just make sure the add-a-circuits are truly plugged in. I had to really push to get them to properly seat.
I just did this setup. Yes, each add-a-fuse needs the fuse you remove and one additional of the same amp in the second slot. So, in this case you'll need an additional 20 and 30.
While shown in the picture but not mentioned, you'll need to attach a ground wire to any of the uncoated screws...
I am just learning the ins and outs of FORScan...so I'm not sure if this would apply. The post is from 2017 so it might be Sync 2. Here's a post from the FORScan forums that has some addresses to change the number of blinks. FYI I haven't tried them myself.
Edit - Here's a video from 9/2018
Thanks for the FORScan setting. I'm looking at purchasing the Thinkware Q800 Pro that has an adjustable battery cutoff setting to shut down once the supplied voltage drops to the voltage setting. They've even added a "wintertime" setting. Between the 18hour setting and the dashcam, I should be...
Changed out all the non-LED in my Lariat, including the puddle lights. As said in the OP and other posts, it didn't take long. Just had to be a little careful with the side mirror turns. Then a FORScan to address the hyperblink. Thanks to all that contributed, made the task easy.
Being a little bored, I did the IPC modification for the Lariat climate on the lower right screen that @RCMUSTANG mentioned. As he indicated, the "climate controls" show but don't work. Not a big deal with voice and the 8" screen to control. Shame though.
I did notice (but not sure when it...
As @TylerV76 stated, I was trying to restore it on the Sync screen, which it did. This addresses what a lot of people experienced in updating to 3.4 - the climate controls disappearing on the Sync screen.
I have a Lariat but haven't used FORScan to put it on the right dash screen because, with...
You had me curious so I went out and started her. Every control on the climate screen works as advertised/marked. So, in my case anyway, far from useless.
I'd updated maps via Cyan a while back when I first jumped to 3.4... With this update my maps are showing NA 119. However, as I posted previously, I lost and didn't regain climate.
Unfortunately I had lost climate when I did the cyan update. Using this official update did not restore it. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and get FORScan unless someone comes up with a solution.
Rainy day so I got adventurous and made the jump to 3.4. I tried the Beta and that my PC didn't like it, so we did the two file method. Took 30 minutes. I did a master reset, paired the phone, got Ford Pass reconnected, etc. Like someone an nice said, thinking about it is more intimidating than...
I finished about all I'm gonna do with my Lariat. Because I liked the look posted on the forums, I talked the dealer into throwing in the tailgate applique. I thought the raised letters added to the whole 3D look. I chose red outline to go with the FX4 decal. For the front grill, I put a more...
