Just checked my Ranger that was purchased new 12/31/19. 1400 on the odometer. It too is overfilled and smells of gasoline. The dipstick, like others have mentioned, drips drops of the assumed oil/gas mixture. I checked our companies 2017 Expedition with the Ecoboost that has 27k on the odometer...
