Seems like appearance package only... it does look nice, but any performance upgrades?
And I think those are aftermarket wheels, not the ones that come with Wildtrak package.
Payload and towing #'s are great but I wonder why they couldn't (or wouldn't?) give the 2.3L Ranger at least the same power output as the 2.3L Ecoboost Mustang since it's the same engine? The latest Ecoboost Mustang outputs 310 hp / 350 lb-ft. I woulda thought they'd give the Ranger at least the...
At least. The current 3.6L Wrangler Rubicon already tops out at almost $60k fully loaded. The Jeep pickup will definitely carry a price premium over the Wrangler and on top of that the Diesel engine will also be priced more expensive than the 3.6L. I'm guessing $65k fully optioned for a diesel...
Congrats man I'm jealous! I think you're the first official member here to place an order. And you even got a discount on it.
And yea Shadowmark is a real thing. http://www.ctpc.com/products/theft-protection/ You might be able to offset the cost of it by getting a reduction in insurance...
Any reason why they wouldn't do that? They already have an engine that can easily take the power crown among mid-size pickups. I can't imagine the Focus RS EcoBoost engine would be that much more expensive to produce than say the next configuration down of the same engine - from the Mustang
Each dealer is going to be different with the deposit that they require or ask for. Sometimes it's negotiable, usually it's not. Anywhere from $500-$1000 is what I would expect most dealers to ask for. I'll share my experience too once I place an order.
Looking forward to seeing the full Ford Performance Parts catalog for the Ranger and Raptor. I'm sure we'll see some stuff rolled out at SEMA since that's coming up.
No dimensions have been released yet, exterior or interior. I'm anxiously waiting on those too and especially seeing the truck in person to get real life feel for size and how I fit inside.
They have been using the gray color for a lot of videos and shots as well as testing. I am not sure why, maybe this will be the main color for the truck over the standard Ford blue?
Either way, that truck is sure a beut. The way it handles the turns and bumpy terrain is amazing. I am sure they...
I have to really like a truck or have plans for it to get an older one. I wouldn't go more than 10 years out myself but it can be worth it depending on what you are going to do with it. Just keep in mind that it is 14 years old and will need work be it soon as or a year from now.
The color is growing on me, I will say that.
Having gotten a better look at the dashboard, how do you like it in comparison to the F-150? This is from the 2018 (XL) model:
Has this been verified or is just something that is speculated? Either way I can see why they would opt against using turbo diesel engines in America. Ecoboost is more economical and people like that.
Yup. This has been the case for a lot of new trucks. If you have an extended bed, it just adds more weight to the truck too. It makes more sense to have the shorter bed.
Interesting they would be doing this when the fine print says "*Available in dealerships Fall 2018" so you should be able to drive one off the lot by then.
Matched side by side, the Raptor will be cheaper than the comparison model of the F-150's. I believe this was brought up in another thread. There is no way they undersell or try to hurt sales for their baby. Most people know Ford as a household name thanks to those powerhouse trucks.
Trucks have gotten more powerful in the general but I do think that the Ranger is much more fuel efficient than it used to be considering it can handle bigger loads and heavier work.
