On my 2017 2.2 TDI I'm still having intermittent issues with my AC compressor not engaging, often paired with a high idle (~1,300 RPM). It's as if the PCM is commanding this for a cold start. I live in a warm tropical area, so it's not cold. I replaced the ECT sensor thinking that it may be...
Thank you, very much for the info! My initial thoughts were refrigerant as well. However, I didn't want to jump to that conclusion if it could be something else simpler. My ambient air temp seems to be reading correctly on the display. I will check the system pressure next and go from there...
Yes, in the mid to upper 70s Fahrenheit, it doesn't want to engage. But man... This humidity here makes it awful at that temp. I'm from Texas, so I'm used to a drier climate with anywhere from it normally being over 100°F in the summer to getting as low as 5°F in the winter. The AC is a...
Just some added random information. I don't see why this would be connected but I try not to ignore things coincidences. My engine is wanting to idle high and I also can smell a hint of diesel exhaust as well. It may very well have nothing to do with the AC issue, and it may have had...
Right, the AC compressor just will not engage unless it's hot outside. It was like 78°F when this was going on. Definitely didn't want to use my heater 😂. Maybe I just need a charge? But I didn't know if there was a different solution before going that route.
Has anyone else had an issue with the AC not working when it's cooler outside? Normally it doesn't bother me too much when mine does this. However It started raining very hard while driving and my windows fogged up very bad and the defrost would not do anything since the compressor wouldn't...
Thanks, man. I appreciate it! I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of the forum, since I'm always working on something on my vehicles, and I've already found parts acquirement to be a somewhat difficult process down here.
HAHA that's awesome. Yes, all of those things are awesome here. Right now the Real is around 5.5 - 1 USD, so its really good here in that aspect. I recommend this place to everyone, the people are really cool, laid back and will treat you like family.
Hey guys! I'm a Texan hanging out down in Brazil. I just bought this used 2017 Ranger last month and I absolutely love it. It's a 4x4 XLS, with the 2.2 TDI. Back in the states I have an older F250 that I have had almost everything apart on, so I'm excited to have something new to work on. .
