i agree, I think based on this discussion and all the recommendations received, replacing the plug is my next step. I did check the grounds on my lunch break, and they are tight and clean.
how are your grounds separated? All of my accessories have a separate ground mounted in the core support, but I have seen situations where grounds get loaded close to other grounds and can cause problems.
thank you for your response. You mentioned if I am NOT getting the hood ajar message, then my ground is fine. I am getting that message, so the assumption would be that the ground is not okay? I did confirm that all grounds in that area are secure, but I could try cleaning the threads on them. I...
based on your response and @Colo_Ranger perhaps it off road related. I had wheeled my truck a bit before replacing the battery, but maybe replacing the battery jostled that plug. I have definitely had water up to that point.
Do either of you have aftermarket accessories that share a ground in...
Thank you f
Thank you for these schematics. I thought it might be a grounding issue at first so I did try to clean up the grounds. I do have some low wattage lights that are currently sharing that ground as well, so maybe I will try disconnecting them and see if it helps.
After replacing my battery, my horn started to not work. When I would press on the button, it would cause an error to come up for the hood being ajar.
After a bit of diag, I found that the plug behind the headlight was causing the issue. There were a few pins that had green corrosion on them...
Can you share more pictures on the cut fenders? Any advice? I like the look and want to do it on my truck. Was thinking of making my own liners for it as well.
Thank you Bill! You were close enough to get me a resolution! I went through all the connectors behind the headlight and added motor craft dialectic grease to each one. Except for the one you were talking about, because I could not get it to separate without risking it breaking. While I thought...
what is the next step after this? Replace BMS sensor?
backstory: I was driving the truck and the hood ajar indicator kept flickering on and off. Pull over and the hood is securely latched, but I open the hood and slam it a few times thinking I may have jostled the sensor a bit.
next day...
It seems like SVC hasnāt been around since 2022, so I wonāt feel guilty hijacking this thread. For those interested, my brother has built a similar light bar for many different trucks and could make this same bar for a competitive price. Check out the website at

For those that had the gears installed by a shop, did you still have a break in period that you were responsible for? I have installed gears myself and there was a 500 mile break in period both times which required driving around 45 mins at low speeds and then allowing the diff to cool for an...
I have had 2 sets from Ross Fab Off-road over the years. The first set was on a 2004 extended cab and my current set is on my 2020 crew cab. He is located in Dayton Ohio and does the install himself. I donāt think he ships though. In my experience, 1. you will definitely want a kicker for a...
