Honestly, it depends on your needs. If you are a contractor type and will never be hauling more then 500 pounds or so, ranger all day.
If you will ever have to tow anything in the ballpark of 4K+ pounds, go with the F-150. If you will be towing regularly, get the powerstroke!

Does anyone know if the 7A195 transfer case will match up to a 6 speed manual mustang transmission (obviously would be pre‐ matched to a 2.3 turbo). The transfer case is mechanical so I suppose the most on that end other than an adapter plate, may have to change the t case input shaft.
