I admit to being totally immersed in matters that do not revolve around my new Ranger (shame on me!..), so I went out a bought a bottle of Mother's Back to Black tire cleaner/restorer. Two back-to-back applications revived the sidewalls back to their factory color.
Thanks for the...
Thanks, Duke. I spoke with our tire dealer and they are getting the Continental Warranty Dept involved. Will keep this post open to advise on how it gets resolved.
I wash it 2-3x per month. The truck sits in our paved parking area most of the time. It would seem odd that lack of use would be a cause for whatever compound is leeching from the rubber blend. We have other vehicles that sit for equally long periods of time and those tires look fine.
Long-time no post. So here is an update on the Continental TerrainContact A/Ts I had fitted back in November '23. With only a mere 3K miles on the vehicle (it is lightly used for local transfers and weekend work), the Continental's are starting to show a very ugly white/green caulk effect on...
I came across a leak around the forward sliding window on the new CX. I'll be calling my installer tmrw to discuss it with him - so far his service has been very good, and I expect a resolution from him via A.R.E. I don't expect this to be a "big deal" repair or warranty issue, but I want it...
Finally added a cap to my '23 XL 4x4 work mule. So the kit is almost complete -- new tires (continental TerrainContact 256/75R16, aftermarket sliding rear window, and A.R.E. CX Classic to match OEM Shadow Black. Need amber fog lamps to replace the non-existent factory slots, and a roof rack.
As a follow up, I went with Continental TerraContact AT's in 265/75R16. They feel very good under the truck at all speeds, are quiet and have the right look for a "work mule".
Unless I missed a part of the thread I don't see anyone discussing the largest tire size w/o modifications for 16" rim. My 2023 XL 4x4 Extended Cab has OEM Bridgestone Dualer HS in 255/70R16 and I need to move up to a true LT tire for moving heavy materials in the bed. From what my math tells...
