Being in 4wd just because you are off pavement can snap axles and damage diffs/transfer case/transmission. Being in 4wd is dependent on available traction, not simply being off a paved surface. You can easily damage a trail while being in 4wd, just like you can not damage a trail while being in 2wd.

There is no separate button for the AdvanceTrak. If you hold down the traction control button for 5 seconds (maybe 10 seconds), you get a pop up on the dash saying the AdvanceTrak is off. I am not a fan of the RSC
