Agreed, my only grey area is how the LIN bus addresses the slave components. I would love to be able to provide these boards to other members if i created them. If they are all different it would be difficult to account for, although I guess i could have it respond to all addresses if that is...
This was my plan because I didnt think it would be as easy as just jumping the LED wires to a strip and removing the resistor.
Im still thinking of doing it but im not sure what the benefit of it would be if this works just fine.
The requisite night shots
Looks great, not as distracting as it might seem. Plus I could lower the brightness if needed.
Wife is now asking for me to try and do that back seats ?
That will require running new lin bus wiring I think, unless Ford was nice and had the intention of having under...
Okay, some success to report. I have been able to successfully light a RGB strip using this board.
I bought a set of modular strips on amazon HERE
I cut the end off one of the included cables and soldered the RGB lines to the pads of the original LED
Not my best solder job, you alos have to...
Behold.....My shitty schematic of the circuit. There are some components on the bottom left that have to to with GND referencing for the LIN bus but that shouldnt matter. I really need to look up the specs on the 3 transistors, if they are decent enough we should be able to just solder a light...
I made some progress in mapping the pins.
The LEDs appear to be common power with transistor sinks. That may mean I can use a off the shelf led strip and just solder it to the pins. I might risk the $70 replacement to try.
Agreed and if it was strictly my truck I would probably somewhat settle for that but technically it's my wife's truck and that probably fails the waf(wife approval factor) ?
That would be fine with me, that was one of the options I had considered but haven't been able to probe the board enough to do that. Is there any instructions or documentation already done for this?
Yep, it's my profession so I probably blew this out of the water.
I want to create a module...
Hey all,
My wife and I just got our 2023 Lariet last week. I have already hardwired my radar and front/rear dashcams nad wasnt too bad to be honest.
However since the first night with it I have been disappointed with the ambient light setup. Especially in the footwell and lack of lighting in...
My wife and I just paid sticker for a 2023 Lariet FX4 Jungle edition. Cant say i have ever paid sticker for a vehicle before but judging from this post we didnt do so bad.
At least we will be the only green truck in a parking lot.
