Good luck to you after the replacing the sensor and running the transmission table reset. I ended up replacing the whole transmission hoping to get help from Ford since I was just shy out of warranty what a fiasco that was due to my dealer.
Please let me know how it goes I haven’t had time to take mine back have had a lot of back to back road trips. Transmission seems fine other than that noise.
Granted it is cheap for a retractable bed but $1000 isn’t chump change. From my research seems like it was originally designed for a GMC model and they just threw in two little things to make it “available” for the Ranger.
I actually bought it second hand at $200 from someone who never took it...
Just installed a Gator Recoil tonneau cover, but the fit seems a bit off. Anyone have any suggestions? The end of the of it where it meets the tailgate seems to not cover the entirety of the tail gate leaving gaps in the corners.
Something I've noticed with my new transmission is a whirring sound kind of like a vacuum when I'm in 4th or 5th gear and accelerating. Ocasionally I hear it around 9th gear as well. Is this normal? I don't remember hearing this before.
Wow I thought I had a good deal. From your post history it seems yours was at 75k. Did you have any extra warranties?
Was it rebuilt or replaced with a remanufactured or new transmission?
I did have Ford customer service/warranty make note of the price charge from dealership and price online. I was going to report, but to be honest I'm just glad to have it over with and got it at the price range I expected.
BTW for anyone needing a new transmission for some reason the new one is...
Yes which is very interesting the only reason I slightly believe them is that when I called another dealership as mentioned earlier in this thread and this time stating I have Ford assistance they also jacked up the original quote. It seems Ford charges more for the transmission if it is done...
Update: Finally got my truck back and after arguing dealership ended up giving me a new transmission all in for $4.2k from my pocket.
For those trying to go through the same good luck and YMMV. My dealership was very adamant about the pricing saying that is the warranty cost and that ford...
Was this done at a dealer or 3rd party? Looks like yours is the 2WD transmission but cost is basically the same on ford.com
edit: I see Snider is a transmission shop. This is basically what every local dealership quoted me before I mentioned Ford offering assistance. For some reason the price...
I haven’t seen the breakdown yet. I’m interested to see how they explain this markup. I’m assuming right now is they’re charging a warranty price and for some reason that’s inflated? Ford Warranty/corporate said they would split the payment 40/60 with me paying 60% but without that it seems I...
How much did your dealer charge you for the repair? I want to make sure I’m not getting screwed here. Why am I being charged 3k more just for the transmission? Total quote now is 10.5k for me.
I’ll have to ask if they price match?
Interesting I was looking at these links.

This makes me question my dealership. They’re charging me...
