I built a cabinet for the bed. It's made of 10 series 1"x1" aluminum extrusion and plywood for the top and drawers. I attached it to the truck bed with rivet nuts. This way, I can take it out with just a few bolts and there is no wood on the floor of the bed so I can still hose it out.
I'm with you on the fuse box. I drilled a hole in the side of the lid and used an Anderson connector. It was painful to make the hole but I think it turned out ok
Thanks, Brett. I went the fuse tap route just because I was a bit worried about draining my main battery because the timer keeps power for a while after the engine stops running with the bed power source. Sounds like it's been ok for you though?
Installed a Vevor diesel heater. I may re-do the mount eventually but ski season is fleeting and this does the trick!
I used the threaded inserts on the driver's side of the bed and some L-brackets
Agreed, love them both.
I think SP announced that just a couple weeks after I finished the drive to Portland...haha. But no complaints, it was a fun trip. I'll have to stop in sometime when I'm in the front range.
Here are the crossbars I made for the camper with 8020:
Parts are:
(2) 1" x 2" Black Smooth T-Slotted Aluminum Extrusion 56.5" long with an M6 tap on each end
(4) 10 Series 6 Hole Joining Plate, I drilled out two holes on each so they could fit an M8 bolt
(8) 15, 30 or 40 Series Standard T-Nut...
The truck is a 2020 Ranger. I bought it used and in great shape in NM and drove it home to Colorado.
When I got the truck it had:
ARB OME suspension with heavy duty leaf springs (~2" lift)
ARB compressor in a cubby under the back seat
Prinsu Roof Rack
Since then, we picked up our SuperPacific...
Thanks again for the help.
I ended up using a fuse tap for fuse 24 which is a spare and from my testing, turns on/off with the ignition.
I drilled a hole in the driver's side of the fuse box lid to run the wire. I then made a connector for the fuse tap with a powerpole connector so that I can...
Truck looks great! Nice to see that you've been able to keep the cruise control and the parking sensors working with the bumper.
I have the smaller ARB compressor. It's mounted in the cubby under the rear passenger-side seat.
Thanks for all of this info and all of the detail, really appreciate it!
I have a wolfhaus plug in my bed, but I didn't know where it came from until now. The previous owner installed it.
I have the Redarc charger in the bed and connected to the starter battery, just need to now figure out a...
@Brett Fields - Thanks for the pictures of your setup. How have you connected the RedArc charger's blue wire to an ignition source on your truck? I'm working on getting mine hooked up.
I've got a redarc DCDC charger and a second battery in my bed. The charger has a wire that is intended to connect to an ignition source so that it knows if the engine is running and will charge the second battery when it is.
Has anyone found a good way to connect this to their truck? An open...
