Big Camp kitchen update:
It's 95% done, and mounted in the truck!
It's been a multi-week project, filled with learn-by-failing moments, and lots of small engineering challenges. I would do a lot different if I did it again, but I'm still pleased with the results.
Happy to take questions, but...
Thanks for the tips! I ordered all precisely pre-cut lengths that should all just work without cutting. But I will need to cut a curve in one piece... That'll be fun ?.
Long-Overdue Massive Update...
It's been a whirlwind 10 months since I bought the truck!
I keep meaning to update with the numerous things I've done to it, but between holding down my job, and prepping/selling a house, and moving to a new state, it's been waaaayyy down on the list of...
Actually, yeah, a ton. Thanks for asking!
I keep meaning to update recently, but I haven't yet had the time. I am hoping to set aside some time this weekend to summarize. In the meantime, here's a visual update from this past September, when I took it out on an inagural camping/14er climbing...
Long story, but I ended up with an extra Mountain Hatch tailgate surface. It's brand new in the shipping box, which I haven't opened. They are currently on an 8 week waiting list, so this is a great opportunity to get one faster.
$200 obo.
Can do local pickup or ship it for actual cost.
Charcoal grey color. Recently replaced it with a Raptor style grille. This one is in excellent condition (it's a little dusty in the photo, but is free of damage). Blue Ford logo has been covered with a black and white decal.
Can ship (for actual cost) or do local pickup.

On today's edition of what did I do to my Ranger: picked up a set of Tremor step bars from a local forum member, got them installed. I kind of like the look without steps, but it's meant to be family functional, and the wife/kids are very happy.
Next up, have a tonneau cover (temporary until I...
Got the Fox kit installed. Did the rears myself, but the previous owners shitty spacer lift in the front created too much downward tension on the tie rods, and I didn't feel comfortable figuring it out myself with my limited space and tools. Took it to a local customs shop and they took care of...
Got the Fox 2.0 (Ford Performance variant) in today. Already got the rears on. Fronts tomorrow.
Turns out the existing rear shocks were cheap Fabtech, not even the stock FX4... Fronts are factory, but with Fabtech leveling spacers.
@D Fresh might have been right. ??‍♂️
Either way, looking...
Oh people are moving to where I am in droves too. DFW has been the fastest growing metro in the country for over a decade, no signs of slowing.
Doesn't change the fact that it sucks. ?
Exactly. I've lived in Texas 16 years and it's 10 years longer than I wanted to. But I kept making excuses to not take the leap to uproot my family and go somewhere I actually wanted to be.
Excuses no more.
??‍♂️ Just a thing my wife and I want to do. We're super bored with Texas. Nothing to do here unless you are into lake scene, which we aren't. Colorado has called to me since I was a kid. Right time for the change.
My dad had been content to live in one place his whole life. Some people are...
Just ordered the Fox 2.0 Stage 1 Ford Performance kit. Install seems simple enough, to save some $. Will replace the front tires and then get an alignment. I feel like I should be well set at that point.
Thanks for the tip. I did just order the Fox 2.0 Stage 1 Ford Performance kit for only about $250 more than that. Been reading up all day about Eibach/Fox/Emu.
