Brand new set of Fox 2.0 coil-overs, originally bought them to add some height to the front of my truck, but I decided not to install. Unfortunately was already past the return policy time.

I was in the same boat as you about a month ago. Just purchased my first truck and immediately was in the market for a tonneau. I ended up going for the gator tri fold. I believe it was around $900 and everything is fine with the cover itself.
I decided to install the cover myself even though I...
Thanks for the input, that was well written. I'll definitely have to go measure the height difference when it's connected to the boat. I've been meaning to do that but haven't gotten around to it since the boat is in winter storage. Will have more info once I do that. Thanks Mark!
Hey Everybody,
I'm relatively new around here, so I apologize if I'm beating a dead horse by asking a few questions regarding the pros and cons of a front end lift, larger tires, and their effects on the truck and the things I do with it.
Right now I'm running on no lift and standard tires...
You're right. In that photo I either missed that rail altogether or it lost grip and slid down while driving. Either way, the new clamps I got are working much better... little to no noise from the back, even in the cold weather.
For anybody who may still be following this… New clamps came in, they are much longer and seem to bite down way better on the small lip on the bed of the truck. Have not driven around since installing the new clamps… been watching football anxiously all day to see who my Packers play next...
I have also noticed the rear part of the tonneau rails bend upwards slightly and don’t sit as flush to the truck as they should. I haven’t given it too much attention because the cover folds down fine and I don’t notice a significant area where weather could get in. That will be something I’ll...
Here are some photos of the clamps as they are right now. Not the best photos but they definitely don’t seem to be as noisy after being parked inside all night
awesome thanks! I’m going to post some pictures of how I have the clamps on currently. Definitely seems to be a correlation with the cold and the squeaking. Was -5 last night when I drove home after being parked outside but today was not nearly as noisy after being parked in a garage all night.
Totally agree, there just doesn't seem to be a good spot on the ranger rail lip where the clamp can bite down hard. I had an uncle over to have a look at it; he's owned ford trucks his whole life and he seemed kind of perplexed at the design of the bed rails. He suggested using some kind of...
I haven't had any clamps fall off yet thankfully, but I agree part of the problem seems to be the design of the bed and the lack of a good clamping spot. I'm getting worried that I'm doing damage to the truck by clamping and re-clamping in certain spots.
Haha I think at this point I'd rather have a real issue with a clear cut way to fix it. The rattling drives me crazy good luck on getting that solved. I've been trying to duplicate the noise with some success, but still haven't been successful on solving the problem.
That's good to hear! Fingers crossed these new clamps I ordered solves the issue. Did you notice any squeaking or rattling while using the gator clamps or were they just not biting down properly?
Thankfully I haven't noticed that the cover is too short, but I havent been out in any rain and the truck is kept indoors at night so I'm sure I'll encounter some water-proofing issues down the line. I will have to reach out to gator about the clamps. Not super excited about getting into a big...
Hey Everyone,
I purchased a new Ranger recently and knew immediately that I wanted a tonneau cover for the bed. I did some research and settled on a Gator hard tri-fold. Installation was difficult as I had never attached a tonneau cover before and the directions provided with the cover...
