I would punt and go after something else. Had a similar scenario on an Explorer ST and it wound up ending in a lemon law take the car back scenario after multiple attempts to fix it. Maybe it will work out, but sounds like the same drama. Sorry man, whatever you choose hope it works out.
Iāll look into that, I hope it isnāt. None of the EGR stuff is covered by ford and from past experience with another ford, itās a pain to deal with that system.
I commute it about 110 miles a day or about 2700 miles a month on average. I tow a 5k camper about 7-10 times a year up through the Rockies usually. I also off-road it about once every two weeks for about 30 minutes on average, but every other month I take a longer wheeling trip (couple hours)...
Soā¦.. I have a 2021 and I just swapped to doing all the oil changes and regular maintenance myself (like last oil change). Used the dealer before every 4-5k. I noticed my coolant was low during the oil change. I know it can be normal to have to add coolant once in a while, so I bought the ford...
I had this on a 2020 Explorer ST. It can be easy like mentioned before with a $20 part or next to impossible to run down. I had three dealers try to fix that thing over a 45 day period and a master mechanic spend a few days in a row on it to no avail. I had just bought the car so after they...
I have a 2021 Tremor and Iām starting to notice the same thing. It reminds me of driving a HMMWV a little off the line and stopping (small amount of slack). Doesnāt seem to be a major issue, just an observation. If I notice it, itās just enjoying at worst.
I have beat on it pretty hard and tow...
I found that it was on the money with the revs per mile it came with. I did the tire calculator and it was off by a couple mph from multiple GPS sources. Once I adjusted it I found myself back at the original revs per mile in the ProCal that it came with. I thought it was weird, but thatās what...
Awesome! The Silverton pass to Ouray is the most scenic drive Iāve ever taken. There are a bunch of short hikes in Ouray. Cascade falls is one (.4 miles). Itās the only place Iāve ever been behind a waterfall. There is another one called Baby Bathtubs that is also only (.3 miles). We went up to...
If you live close enough to take this trip, I highly recommend it. Iāve done it multiple times and it just never gets old.
This ring route has:

Camping or nice hotels
Mountain Bike Trails
Off Roading
Fishing
Mountain Climbing
Ice climbing in the winter
Skiing/ Snowboarding winter

Youāre breaking ground to an extent for the Ranger, almost no one has done what your planning. Itās a proven technique in other platforms and those same issues and benefits will likely follow to your application on the Ranger. YOLO!
I unfortunately get my oil changed at Ford. Itās some 100k powertrain warranty thing. I ask a lot of questions and Iām very skeptical of others work on my car. I have always done my own maintenance, so this is a bit weird for me. The tech told me he puts in exactly 6.2 quarts. I asked why...
So, what would they call the Lincoln version of a Ranger? Theyāve taken a pretty good stab at aircraft crew member designations already (Aviator/ Navigator). Lincolnās donāt usually use snake-horse-dinosaur names. Unfortunate but, those are the cards we were dealt. Thoughts?
Iāve seen this covered somewhere on here before. If Iām not mistaken there was a fair bit of folks that were all for the spacer thatās made by one of the Ranger5 members. There were varying opinions that were good as well. Iād give it a search and see what you come up with. It is a bit of a...
I have not towed without the FP tune. I got it specifically for towing, but I suspect it wouldnāt have any problems without it. Iāll give it a try in a few weeks and report back. My temps are normal around 200ish at all times so far. I like those Geo Pros, nice rigs, weāll designed.
Iām still playing with the set up, but it tows wonderful. I used to tow with a Lariat F-150 3.5 EB. The payload is about 100lbs less in the Ranger. It feels similar in terms of stability, the 3.5 had more get up and go, but the Ranger crushed a huge hill with about 1500ā of elevation gain at...
