    I have a supercab Ranger XLT 2WD. My 2 previous F150's were supercabs. If I find a Raptor Supercab, either Ranger or F150 that's within my budget, I will go for it. No offense intended to crewcab owners, but why didn't you just get an Explorer or Expedition?
  2. Ford dealer says cannot add tow hitch and brake controller to Ranger without factory tow package.

    I have the Curt controller and I have an older phone that has been replaced by a new one. This older phone's Bluetooth is used only for the Curt. I tow a 5000lb+ camper with my '19 Ranger, and I've never had an issue with braking.

    My Curt worked fine with my camper brakes. I used one of my old unused Android phones Bluetooth and it was dedicated specifically for the Curt brake controller. The gain and sensitivity are adjustable with the phone. Just set it and forget it!

    My '19 has one but the '21 loaner the dealership gave me didn't. I thought they might want to charge me for it being missing, but after reading this thread, I guess it's normal.

    Try the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller. Plugs into the 7 pin socket then plug the trailer into the Curt. Trailer Brakes are Bluetooth controlled by your phone. Very simple. And it can be transferred to another vehicle if needed.
