  1. DIY brakes and tire rotation question

Thanks everyone for the helpful information. There is definitely something wrong with the brakes. I haven't had a chance to pull them yet, but uneven wear or warped rotors or something. Thanks again, Ethan
  2. DIY brakes and tire rotation question

My 2020 Ranger is the first "fancy" vehicle I've owned and I'm wondering about the ability for the DIY'er to do the brakes and a tire rotation. Specifically: 1. Do I have to tell the computer that I've replaced the brake pads? Or some other computer related thing such as messing with the ABS...
  3. Rear tires excessive wear

It is a salvage vehicle. But they did a good job on the repairs. I suppose it is possible that the repairs weren't enough.
  4. Rear tires excessive wear

    Nope. Salvage title.
  5. Rear tires excessive wear

I don't think so. The axle seal had been leaking prior and when I replaced it, the job went quick. New axle went right in and stopped the leak. I looked it on the lift at the alignment shop and they noticed that the springs and the u-bolts on each side didn't seem to line up. It is hard to...
  6. Rear tires excessive wear

So, I took it to an alignment shop. Rears are out of alignment. Seems like axle housing might be bent, although it sure looks straight. May have to proceed with rear axle replacement.
  7. Rear tires excessive wear

They were my winter tires and had been on there since about November.
  8. Rear tires excessive wear

    No wheel spacers.
  9. Rear tires excessive wear

    I'll take a look.
  10. Rear tires excessive wear

Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the worn tires. Just imagine those worn tires they have on display at the tire shop when they are trying to sell you an alignment. I'm pretty sure they were going to mount my tires on the wall. I did the rear axle replacement myself. Never had to...
  11. Rear tires excessive wear

I'm getting excessive (severe) wear on the inside edge of *both* rear tires. I realize the rear alignment doesn't have adjustment, but it seems odd that both tires are wearing in the same way. I don't have the locking rear end, but it seems like maybe something could be wrong inside the diff...
  12. Parking brake spring?

I've thought about that, but it is hard find used parts for such new vehicles. Too many people buying up wrecks and flipping them. Plus, I'm no where near a junkyard.
  13. Parking brake spring?

Just an update, turns out you do have to buy the whole caliper if you want to replace only the spring. Why am I not surprised that I need to spend $100 for what should be a $5 part.

Thanks, I'll let you know. I will say that having to buy a new caliper because I just need a spring is nuts.
  15. Genuine Ford Parts, Accessories & Ford Performance

Hi, Benny. I posted in another thread looking for the spring that mounts on the rear brakes for the emergency brake. It was suggested that you might be able to assist. I have a 2020 Ranger, 4x4. Thanks, Ethan
  16. Parking brake spring?

Salvage title. My point is having to buy a $300 assembly for what should be a $15 replacement seal.
  17. Parking brake spring?

My vehicle is not under warranty.
  18. Parking brake spring?

Hi. I'm in need of the spring that mounts to the rear brakes for the parking brake. I feel like I've searched to the end of the internet, but I can't seem to find an exploded parts view or a part number for this little spring. I have a 2020 Ranger 4x4. Does anyone know if this spring is...
