  1. Stock Turbo

From what I can deduce, it's a modified version of the Borg Warner S200SX, made specifically for the Explorer and Ranger. And yes, I've spent hours upon hours scrounging through the internet finding pictures of them. The 2019 Explorer 2.3 L turbo has the exact same numbers on the intake housing...
  2. Were 2019 Rangers Built Better?

The ford tune is a 93 performance tune from Livernois. The newest update ( version 9) removes the skipping of gears and smooths shifts. Definitely worth it. It receives updates around twice a year that I've seen.
  3. 10 speed transmission issues

The ford tune keeps the bumper to bumper warranty, and does not void the powertrain warranty. It also gets rid of gear skipping in the newest update.
  4. Ranger rear end problems.

Well god damn thats a lot of miles. I'm glad to see that the Rangers are holding up over time.
  5. FORScan Modifications

My FPP tune pushes 22-23 psi and whould make around that TQ at the crank. 310 +60 would put it right around there.
  6. 10 speed transmission issues

Also, I can probably get avidoe of my truck shifting into each gear with the tune I can post that as well.
  7. 10 speed transmission issues

Yes actually. The knewest FPP tune ( version 9 ) stops the transmission from skipping gears. I've had the tune on mine since 9/26/2020 and it would always skip from 3rd to 5th and jerk the truck. Now with the version 9 my truck will engage every gear. It shifts like absolute butter.
  8. Ranger rear end problems.

I believe I quoted this earlier, but not really the case. I've had to battle with Ford to replace windows, cam phasers, center consoles etc for customers well within the 3yr 36. Ford even balks at a long block for the terrible 1.6 ecoboost which is know for warping decks and heads. They usually...
  9. Ranger rear end problems.

Oh, you would definitely know if it was locked. You turn even the slightest and you can hear it. It is not happy. So no, it was not engaged.
  10. Ranger rear end problems.

Definitely. The fact mine died while being the same exact tire and wear means that spare would annihilate it.
  11. Ranger rear end problems.

The mods are from Ford performance. The issue is that the rear end tolerances are too tight and the materials too weak
  12. Ranger rear end problems.

Yes, but that usually is normal. It's usually a transmission noise.
  13. 2.3L Ecoboost motor the same between the Mustang & Ranger?

The Duratec motors which were used to create the 2.3 L mustang Ecoboost were made at the Lima plant and were designed off of the old Lima architecture. While similar, the ranger and mustang engines are different. The Rangers 2.3 L was designed when Ford made the Focus RS.
  14. Ford Ranger Ford Performance Tune Review

So you can put the tunr back on using the procal. However, when you connect it to the laptop you have the software on it will reach out and then prompt you to update the version. If you don't have th software anymore you can login to your ford performance account you created when you first tuned...
  15. Ranger rear end problems.

You just made me spit out my coffee. Yeah my friend just ditched his colorad for a bronco. His colorado has had 2 transmissions, a rear end and 8 months with half his engine out in his garage trying to figure out why it wouldn't start. Needed an upper and lower fuse box, a starter, and an...
  16. Ranger rear end problems.

We don't truthfully know that. GM has been slapping the Allison name on stuff they don't make, and I doubt that Dana is making their stuff in China. It is interesting however that they rebuilt mine if everyone has had the assembly replaced.
  17. Ranger rear end problems.

I am not sure. I have the 3.73 locking rear diff.
  18. Ranger rear end problems.

Sorry man, yeah I should've explained the main issue. Basically, the gears connecting to each axle are weak. The driveline center gear is actually a harder metal. So, in turn if the tires are not pefectly identical in height the center gear will start to eat away at the other two pinions. The...
  19. 2.3L Ecoboost motor the same between the Mustang & Ranger?

I know I am super-duper late on this but the answer is no. The 2.3 from the mustang is a decendant from the Lima engine. The focus RS and the Ranger 2.3L is a bored and stroked 2.0 L ecoboost with a forged crankshaft, rods, and low frictionpistons with skirt coatings. Very different. That's why...
