well no issue with coolant level and the cap was clean and tight. I checked the oil and looked normal and no smoke out the tailpipes.
I took the little DPFE sensor off to inspect and clean with electronic cleaner and cleared the code, it came back after a day.
so ill start with that sensor first.

just fixed my hose yesterday after seeing this thread. yeah its a thin hose used and it appears heat and age really messed with the side attached to the engine side. the hose was pretty bad for first inch then felt more normal closer to the fan. I had some thicker 3/8 hose and cut to about same...
thats cool, i just took mine off and cleaned it with electronic cleaner and hooked up 12 volts to it. all it does it click quickly so put it back in. cleared the code and have driven it a few times without it coming up now.
lost one of the green retainer clips so i had to rig up something...
Ive been getting this since 40k miles and now with 81k, its popping up more and more now and in fact hasnt gone away at all after many cold starts / drive cycles.
I checked the hoses and nothing unhooked or broken, but I think Im going to pull the purge valve when I do spark plugs and try to...
almost at 78k miles on the original set of the hankook 265/65/17s, im currently going to purchase another set because they are getting there, last oil change they were considered yellow i think at the ford dealer.
i have brakes pads to put on too, i think they are in the middle range as well.
Anyone have any updates on this?
Keep on getting the codes, usually during 1/4 tank of gas and driving on highway / cruising speed.
Don't want the dealer to take my money to diagnose the code and it may or may not be under warranty according to them.

just got this code yesterday once I got on highway and set cruise control to 70.
after some searches it appears to be related to the fuel tank pressure sensor but now the egr vac control was mentioned first to try.
it appears at low rpms and crusing, in the past that is normally when an egr...
yeah no luck getting a new one, so going used route.
it seems the ford explorer L1ME6A949CD was a different part number however, looks identical to l1mz6a949a. it appears that the explorer and ranger are the same. seemed like the bronco is too perhaps. so ill search for both used options...
