I use a Husky Centerline TS WDH to tow our 23 ft travel trailer. Hitch setup question...... The instructions say to make sure the truck and trailer are level after setup is complete. The unloaded truck is higher in the rear than the front by design, My question is should I be trying to achieve...
I tow a 4500 lb camper with a 750 lb tongue weight. When I attach the spring bars on my hitch I have to raise the back of the truck up to almost lifting the rear wheels off the ground in order to achieve the correct levels when hitched up. Anyone else experience the same? Note, then hitched...
I have picked up a "thump" in what seems to be in the rear end. I could be transmission but not sure. When I come to a stop, I feel a thump or bump coming from the rear. When I begin moving again it can be felt at times too. Anyone else experienced this? It's not bad yet, but annoying. Thanks!
Anyone done this with a 2022 Ranger Supercrew? If so, how did it go up and down? Any tips are appreciated as we are planning to go Asheville NC area traveling on I 40 from Raleigh.
Thanks!
SInce the rear of the Ranger sits up about 3 inches higher than the front, should I allow the rear leaf springs to compress and set the wdh to level the truck front and back, or set it up so the front and rear wheel wells are back to original height before load. The tongue weight is 800 lbs and...
I just got back from a 160 trip towing our 4500 lb camper and got about 10.5 mpg. It was a combination of hills and flat land at 55- 60 mph. Running the ac. Is this a normal mpg for towing?
Thanks!
Just added these mud flaps. The brand is Tecoom from Amazon and are custom fit just like the OEM's. They even have the Ford part number stamped on the back. 1/2 the price of OEM ones.
Swapped out the OEM 255/65/17 Bridgestones for 265/70/17 Pathfinder HT's (Kumho's). The front end wandering went away and the truck feels so much more stable. Can't wait to tow our camper which was very uncomfortable with the OEM tires.
I have a 2022 Supercrew XL and tow a 4000 lb camper. The OEM tires are Bridgestone Dueler 685 HT and they are terrible for towing. The truck wanders and feels like riding on jelly. I increase tire pressure to try and stiffen up the sidewalls which helps but its still not comfortable. Can anyone...
When using tow mode (towing 3500 lb camper)the rpms seem to get really high going down a steep grade. I usually begin breaking at 3500 to 4000 rpms. Is this to be expected and what do you experience?
Thanks
Which is easier on the Ranger powertrain, slowing down, locking the transmission in a low gear and running a higher rpm up the hill or letting the transmission select the gear? I tow a 3500 lb travel trailer.
Thanks!
I have a 2022 Supercrew and tow a 3500 lb travel trailer. On the interstate it feels every vehicle that passes causing a wiggle to truck and trailer. I have a weight distribution hitch and both truck and trailer are level. We load everything in the front part of the camper. I use a sway bar...
