Last week I finally bit the bullet and installed the ford (redarc) brake controller. Sort of a PITA but well worth it. This setup is right around max weight for the Ranger... and it pulled surprisingly well. The only thing that concerns me is the actual tongue weight because its obviously not...
Ford is offering the Maverick with a brake controller (with the max towing package - 4,000 LBS)... but they don't offer a controller for Rangers with a 7,500 LB capacity. I love my ranger but this makes absolutely no sense. I plan on wiring my own REDARC unit... but I would've been glad to pay...
