...on order so no ranger pics yet.
I’m not going to quote from the other pages but I will just say a rear locker is my choice over terrainmanagement. TM is great for what it is but a locker is the real deal.
Pics are of me and other Jeeps climbing a hill. Very basic stuff but if your new to...
We put over 8,900 miles towing our TT (4,500 lbs) and our MPG depends on how fast we go and type of terrain we are on. If we go 70 mph, we will get 9 mpg. @ 65 mph: 12 mpg; @60: 14 mpg. We often go through Appalachian mountains and the average is 10 - 12 MPG (Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina...
Choice 3: terrainmanagement smarts. It's good enough these days that the marginal improvement from a locking front diff isn't worth the trouble for most people/most situations.
Having a non-FX4, I can definitely say there is a noticeable difference when you have TerrainManagement and better than stock tires (Falken Wildpeaks). The ranger is perfectly capable off-road and will keep up with most trails without an issue. It's a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none kind of...
I know the terrainmanagement part jumped in price pretty good. I was able to find it at CARiD for $80 shipped. It should be here Monday so hopefully it's the correct part.
This. Add the skid plates and terrainmanagement, then get after market shocks. If you want to keep the full warranty, get the Ford/Fox 2.0s.
I have the FX4 package. It is worth it for what is bundled (skip plate, TerrainManagement, locking dif, etc), but the shocks are disappointing. I am...
Sorry Jesse, you probably didn't get it sideways enough. A quick press of the button turns off traction control but not stability control. A long press supposedly turns off both, but if you get sideways enough, the truck will still reel you back in unfortunately. If you lock the diff, then...
...that you hold the traction off button for 5-10 seconds (didn't time it sorry) and you will get absolutely no form of traction control or stability control whatsoever. It was a lot of fun ? However now that I think about it, were you in a terrainmanagement mode? When I did it I was in normal...
Interesting to read this. As someone who recently purchased a 2021 Ranger, I find the vehicle complements my 2016 Forester and 2021 Crosstrek well.
For winter roads without deep snow, nothing beats a Subaru with snow tires (IMHO). We bought our Ranger to fill the gaps the Subbies can't do (in...
Does anyone know if we've gotten an AB for a Ranger Raptor? I wonder if there are any clues to enabling more drive modes within TerrainManagement. I've heard rumors there is rock mode and offroad mode which allows a few other features (like keeping the diff locked over 25mph).
All things considered, the altitude, grade, pulling in 4x4, trailer weight, snow. It doesn't sound too bad. I pull my 4,000 pound TT in summer and only get mid 11s. Yes the little 2.3 pulls great but the expense of mileage.
...and had to do very little braking. Once I got to the Shasta zone I was running on un plowed roads in 4-6in of snow, 4WD with the terrainmanagement in "snow Mode". I really like the Falken Wildpeaks in the snow!
Was a little surprised to see such low MPG. I averaged only 10.8 MPG over...
We got 3-4" overnight looks like another inch incoming throught.the evening. We got in some sledding and abandoned Kroger donuts. I finally tried out the TerrainManagement upgrade I did, it works lol
...would end up with one to control a rear locker which you don’t currently have.
we haven’t figured out trail control yet, but the terrainmanagement button is easy to do.
the terrainmanagement button is in the middle of the 4x4 knob after you do the install and doesn’t mess with the other...
