    Interesting about the EGR. Is this the one that sits in the airfilter box? I also had a surging issue that people were saying could be done to this, but it turned out it was another common issue of the intercooler having a leak and then sending whacky signals to the throttle body.

    Apart from the obvious snafu of 15K not 1.5K and the funny replies, it sounded a bit like my Ranger issue. Mine was more like a thud and surge around 2k with the tach jumping 2 or 3 hundred constantly. When i took it in nothing comes up on the diagnosis machines so mechanics then have no idea...

    Yep like I said I live in a very special place, its beautiful and a tourist attraction, but getting parts, service, anything is always a pain and much more expensive than even other places in Australia which is already way more expensive than the US. We have a couple of transmission shops...

    I joined this site a few weeks ago when my 2012 Ranger develeped some serious transmission issues. Here in Australia we've had the new look Rangers a while, but it wasn't until mine started acting up that I did some searches and wouldnt you know it, Rangers are notrious for blowing torque...
