When I am towing my camper, sometimes I remember to press the Tow switch, sometimes I forget. Not sure that I notice a difference. Also do not know what gear I am in at any given time nor what the engine RPM was when the tranny shifted. Maybe I am not very observant.

Do not know. Mostly doing short trips to get used to the brake controller and see how everything responds to various driving scenarios. I know I need better mirrors; that is one big weakness with a Ranger. I can tell the engine is putting in a lot of effort; hope this thing is not over-taxed.
