For those interested, the story had a somewhat happy ending. It looks like Ford is going to cover the costs of this most recent repair, which were approximately $850. Not sure if it will be enough to keep me from trading it for something with a little better warranty, but credit to Ford for...
Nope. It’s under 36k miles but over 3 years old so I’m out of warranty. I had asked Ford to help with the cracked bushing and leaf springs but they declined. I’m going to go back to them with this new set of issues.
Thanks for all the replies. Wound up taking it to the dealer and it has a failing driver side rear wheel speed sensor and a failing terrain management (I think that's what they said) sensor. $850 all in with the diagnostic fee.
That's $3500 in the last 4 months after my driver's rear...
I am currently experiencing some fairly strange electrical behavior from my 2021. When I start it up after it has been sitting for more than a few hours, I get the following notices in the instrument cluster:
Service AdvanceTrac
Terrain Management System Fault
Hill Start Assist Not Available...
For anyone who's curious, I reached out to Ford Corporate to see if they would be willing to cover any portion of the repair given these failures at only 26,000 miles. They declined to do so. Pretty disappointing to think in an off-road oriented truck you may be looking at paying $3k every...
It's possible but I am the only one who drives the truck and I don't remember hitting anything recently, which is when the noise started. Dealer did not report any issues with the brakes. In any event, if I am going to pay close to $3k for the control arm and leaf spring it better fix the...
These are the photos they provided of the leaf spring. The roads are terrible in my area so I see a lot of potholes but I’ve never done any off roading or anything.
I have a 2021 Ranger FX4 with only 26,000 miles. The rear end recently started making a loud squeak with each wheel rotation (see video). I took it to the local Ford dealer and they reported a cracked control arm bushing. They also reported a twisted leaf spring which was not causing the noise...
