Well here's the math:
TL;DR Eibachs baby!
To rebuild them, I'd need to decomission Rex for about two weeks, which means I'm out of work. Then I'd additionally be paying for shipping from CAN to US plus paying for the rebuilds. Nobody in my city rebuilds fox shocks.
Option two is just to buy...
Hey appreciate you sending this that's great!
Given all 4 corners are sweating, id want all of them. Stage 3 has the fox tuned by Ford 2.0 kit, and it looks like it should be a simple drop in and re-align. Only thing I saw different was the rears in that kit don't have reservoirs or the guards...
I am sure this has been answered already, so I do apologize if this is a repeat question.
Based on what I have already searched, The only difference in suspension between the Non-Tremor and Tremor models is a beefier pair of rear leafs, coupled with the Fox 2.0 suspension.
If this is correct...
I did try weasling out the pulley after loosening the 4 bolts on the AC Adler but sadly just not enough room :(
I'll take a good look at the front cover in those areas for sure. Thank you for confirming my prediction on the clutch threads!
UPDATE!
Used what little tech diag knowledge was left in my brain and a former Ford colleague and I put our heads together. With engine running, we pulled the oil cap, the noise did not get any louder as a valvetrain type tick would. Using a stethoscope, we probed different areas of the front...
Sorry to revive this thread, but given you guys are working in this area of the engine, surely you would have the answer.
I need to replace the alternator belt's idler pully, as it was noisy and making a ticking noise that almost identically matched a valvetrain noise *whew*. Thrilled that this...
The sewing machine noise I am not worried about at all, It's that very distinct tick that I have somewhat traced to the top end of the engine using a stethescope.
Here is a video of a ranger engine provided to me by a reddit user...
No CEL at this time. Can confirm 100% through other videos I had of the truck (Camera was right near the grille) while camping in the summer, that tick was not present then.
Can barely hear it in the cab, it correlates to engine RPM. As far as I know there are no current drivability issues at...
Hey guys. So thanks so much for helping me determine the normal HPFP noises in my previous post.
It's -25°C here in Alberta and I have been remote starting my truck for at least 5 minutes before hitting the road.
Today I again remote started it before going for lunch and I started hearing a...
Evening, yall!
I emailed my Ford store to ask them to price out the engine cover, studs and nuts. I gave him the part numbers, said I was aware it likely wont list it under my vin and wanted it anyways. Heres the part numbers I gave him, found in the engine cover thread:
Cover - L1MZ - 6A949...
I flew back home yesterday evening and tried to get a video of the noise, it doesnt really get picked up by the mic in my phone. However after reading this thread I believe now that it may just be normal. Someone there commented about it sounding almost "diesel" like, and in retrospect I think...
I have done 2 oil changes on it now. At the time of sale it had 77,000km on the odometer. I did the first oil change at 81,000 (it had gone 6 months since the dealer did the recon on it, so I wanted fresh oil in it). I used Castrol Edge 5w-30 synthetic and a ford FL-910 Filter. Then I did the...
That is exactly my concern. I left it with the dealer for a separate issue; I have been topping up the coolant once every couple of months since I bought the truck but asked their foreman to road test the truck. They no faulted the diag for both issues, claiming they did a pressure test for 30...
I'm away for work right now but I fly home tomorrow. When I get home I will upload a video to the thread but I thought I would get this posted early to capture some user insight. Here is the issue and the conditions to replicate:
Symptom: Clattering noise. Similar to a rod bearing knock or...
