  1. Finally a Ford TSB to Try and Fix our Transmission Problems (TSB 24-2046)

Look into the USED Ford ESP plans through Zeiger/Flood/etc. They'll probably require an inspection by a dealer. That's what I did. It was an easy choice to make the investment considering the 10R80 issues. Of course, everyone's situation is different.
  2. New Ranger Purchase

First, these charges are bogus and you should demand they be removed: Appearance Protection - 3 Yr ** + $699.00 Dent Protection - 3 Yr ** + $699.00 Tinted Windows (2) + $199.00 [ask for the tint certificate if they refuse to remove] TRANSPORT + $600.00 [you already paid for this on the...
  3. Pulled trigger on CSP!

Has anyone had any experience using their CSP (note that ESP is a different product)? I regret not purchasing ESP while my truck was still eligible. *UPDATE* After doing more research, I found out that you can purchase ESP even after your warranty is expired. They just require an...
  4. Any Truth to This Regarding Disabling Stop/Start

This will adversely affect the Battery Management System.
  5. 2020 Lariat Fx4 rough downshifting when braking

Reading your post had my hopes up that this could be the problem. Unfortunately the truck stops smoothly when braking & e-braking while in neutral. I can feel each downshift in normal mode. When coming to a quick stop, the truck wants to leap forward as it shifts to 1st. I'll need to drive a...
  6. 2020 Lariat Fx4 rough downshifting when braking

After waiting a couple of months for an appointment slot, my truck finally went into the dealer. The notes indicate TSB 21-2315 was found in oasis. The adaptive tables were cleared and then relearned. After driving the truck for a day, nothing appears to have changed. I doubt this issue is...
  7. 2020 Lariat Fx4 rough downshifting when braking

Downshifting when coming to a stop has been driving me crazy, too. If I wanted to experience rough downshifts, I would have kept my WRX (at least then I was able to control it). I have also noticed lag/shudder when going uphill at lower speeds (~20 mph). I will have it looked at in the next...
  8. Just updated to Sync 3.4 on my Ranger 2019

3.3 had better colors all together. The blue looks gaudy with the interior. I may have to buy a forscan adapter and try the Lincoln setup. Is there anyway to downgrade back to 3.3?
  9. Line X Insane Prices?

I paid $450 for premium. Call around (if you can). I think the original quotes were $399 (basic) and $499 (premium). But another installer not too far away quoted $350 and $450. The first (and closer) place price matched the lower quote.
  10. Tow package? About to buy Ranger - please help

Get the tow package if you can. The OEM setup looks slicker and I imagine it has a higher clearance than any aftermarket. It can be added later, but you'll probably have a difficult time finding the parts (mainly the hitch). It is a bit of a PITA to install, too (albeit not difficult). The...
  11. Towing Package: It's more than just a hitch and some wires.

Yes, the tow rating would be determined by the aftermarket hitch's rating and proper installation. The stock motor and transmission do not need any upgrades to achieve that 7500 lbs number with the OEM. The towing package really should have been standard, especially considering how little...
  12. Towing Package: It's more than just a hitch and some wires.

What did you do with the non-towing package bumper/hitch?
  13. Seam Sealer Missing On Doors

Seamer on all four doors. 8/19 Lariat
  14. Trucks w/o Tow Package?

Those bumper trim pieces on both sides of the receiver are included inside the box with the OEM tow hitch. They're listed as parts B and C in the trailer hitch installation instructions. Speaking of the installation instructions, I found a couple of typos/errors (at least in my experience)...
  15. Trucks w/o Tow Package?

For those of you that installed the OEM Towing Hitch, what are you doing with the original non-Towing Hitch, harness, and plastic trim piece?
  16. Gone surfing

You know, I wonder if the keyfob would still be actively detected in the HitchSafe, too.
  17. Wax/Paint Protection

Jescar Power Lock and then Collinite 845. I used it for years with my WRX. Fairly easy to apply and great results. 303 for the plastics. I don't plan to do much off-roading, otherwise I would have looked more into the ceramics.
  18. Gone surfing

Having a new key cut may be the best option. I used to always carry my Subaru valet key with me into the water. The key that detaches from the Lariat keyfob would be ruined in a couple of sessions from the salt. How waterproof is the HitchSafe?
  19. What is everyone paying for their 5th Gen Ranger?

Lariat 4x2 500A with Tech Package MSRP $36,375 Dealer Discount $3,875 Ford Incentives: $2,500 Private Offer: $1,250 Total Discount: $7,625 Final Price: $28,750 But, it was really about a $6.5K discount when dealer fees and trade value are considered.
