I certainly wouldn't. No sense in giving business to dealers that don't value their customers.
But, if you are in a pinch, keep this in your back pocket.
My personal opinion? Use a high quality oil, use a high quality filter and change it often.
Amsoil, Castrol, Mobil, etc, they all make good products. Wix, Motorcraft, K&N etc, they all make good filters.
Whichever one speaks to you, go for it! Just don't be cheap

I now have about 28,000 on my ranger with a Ford Performance Fox Kit. I will say that the gas mileage did improve slightly once the motor had some miles on it.

Hi all - I have a cracked rear drivers tail lamp off of a XLT with BLIS (transponder not included). I bought a new one and if I return this one I get an $80 core.
Wanted to offer it up here before I send it back. I got my new lamp for $800 and thought someone may want it this one for a project...
Just picked up my truck from the service department at Jim Vreeland Ford - had them put on the Fox Kit. I had bought RC Spacers, but took a look at them and decided if I am going to do it - might as well do it.
Certainly could have save a lot of money and did it myself - not a tough job at all...
