So I'm the only one that thinks that a tailgate damper is a solution in search of a problem and rolls his eyes every time a reviewer slams the tailgate down in shock?
I don't have my Ranger yet, but it's an aluminum tailgate... How heavy can it be? What if you had to shut a tailgate on a 1978 F150 like we had when I was a kid. Lol

Not very. Since you can't lower it without touching it anyway I'd rather just lower it than wait for a dramatic entrance.

I think the Ranger is good, but it needs a few things.

1) Soft touch padding on the top of the door where many of us rest our elbow.
2) Push button start on all models...this is 2019!
3) Full time 4wd option
4) Flat load floor when rear seats are raised

Heated steering wheel...I really love my fusions heated steering wheel.
The Ranger is a great truck as it is, but still could be greatly improved by adding (or removing) a few little things: all-automatic seats; heated steering wheel; automatic rear sliding window; make auto start-stop an option that can be added (or not) at all levels; make sun/moon roof an option that can be added (or not) at all levels; an optional 360-degree view like the 150 has; the optional bed-divider like the 150 has ....

And, of course, the option of more powerful motors at the higher trims....

I want a front diff lock!!! It will crush zr2 sales if it is an option .. move window buttons to same location as previous generation .. they are awkward ..... all rangers should come with mudguards .. it’s a wonky design .. I put mine on first week.. it sprays hard on the front door without them .. two tone paint should be an option .. the wheels have no backspace to even go to a 275 requires different wheels .. it’s a shame I like my wheels .. .. bolt pattern should be same as f 150 for more options on wheels.. I’d switch wheels back and forth if it was ..

  1. lose the ridiculous hand brake. its a TRUCK, not a sports car.and a huge waste of space
  2. put the cup holders, side by side...then
  3. ENLARGE the center console
  4. forget the Lariat's single "gauge cluster" stick with the better XLT dual gauge
  5. make all the functions in the Ranger mirror the F150

1-3 definitely agree.
4 That Lariat gauge cluster was almost a deal breaker for me (Lariat vs XLT). The right screen really seems like a waste of space. And if my old 2009 Focus weedeater had a real tach, by gosh my truck should too.

I think having a real handbrake is one of the better features.
I always hated those useless foot activated parking brakes and considered them to be a safety hazard and a maintenance nuisance.
Agree on the instrument cluster... But HEY... where's the ash tray? You'd have to use one of the drink holders for that anyway!;)

I like the hand brake. And I'm getting used to the Lariat gauge cluster. I kind of like the two flexible screens.

I just wish you could use the right screen for left screen stuff. There's a lot of times I'd like to see two of those things.
Yeah, that would be nice. I always have the right screen with the compass on it. That is really the only thing that is of interest to me on it. Well, that, plus the gear display.

1. ridiculous hand brake? This is 100% better than that idiotic floor pedal taking up real estate needed to stretch my leg. This is a MUCH BETTER design.
2. cup holders? really? if this is one of the big issues - Ford hit it out of the park.
3. Ok. maybe, but nitpicking here.
4. Couldn't care less about the Lariat. Just a collection of flu flu crap I will never pay for.
5. Why? if I wanted a F-150, I would buy an F-150. Have zero interest in this.

Why the heck would I want a giant console and little tiny seats?

The hand brake is a towing thing, it needs to have an auxiliary brake capable of holding the truck on some specified incline while at full towing capacity. Rather than putting in a stupid foot pedal thing, it's right there and easy to access. Also, my guess is it's there so the RoW ranger can have a clutch pedal and they just re-used the hand brake location.
