XM radio doesn't work sometimes.

Good morning. i think i saw something about this a bit ago, but never saw a solution or reason. Sometimes if i go some where (listening to XM), turn off truck, come back quickly, 5 - 10 mins, turn truck back on, the XM radio is dead, no matter what you change it to, you get nothing. its just silent. i can use FM radio. the XM doesnt come back until the truck has been sitting off for a while. Anyone have a fix for this? or know whats going on?

Has been discussed on here in multiple threads. Basically, a bug was introduced in Sync 3 v21020 and also exists in v21098 that affects Sirius XM and Travel Link. There appears to be a fix coming soon from Ford as v21194 is available via Cyan Labs and is reported to resolve the issues.

Until you do update your Sync software, you can do a "soft reset" to have Sirius start playing again. You do not have to be stopped to do the reset.

I copied this from another user on this forum but don't remember who in order to give him/her credit.

Soft Reset of Sync

SIMULTANEOUSLY (at the same exact time) press the Scan Forward button (>>) and the CENTER power button (audio system power) and HOLD them in for a little more than 10 seconds. The screen will go black. RELEASE the buttons at the black screen. System will then reboot.

I just got my truck about a week ago and noticed this too. I brought mine in after work and did a update to sync system and it did fix it. Did not pay attention to the before/after calibration level.

v21194 definitely fixes this issue and the travel link issue. I’ve had zero issues since updating.

My wife's edge does the same thing.

What version is your Sync3? If you are not up to date, you may have the version with known SXM issues….
