The Ranger is now as big as my '97 F150 was. The current F150's are just huge!

current Ford Ranger: 211″ L x 78″ W x 71-72″ H
1997 F150: 202-244″ L x 78-80″ W x 72-75″ H

What's really sad is how much bigger the old Ranger sliding rear window is.

Assuming the little pickup makes production next year, adding it would be interesting too. Then again, how many will consider a Focus truck a real truck?

I still have my 1997 Ranger single cab, I have a 2019 SuperCrew Ranger Lariat too. Huge size difference between the two. Look at Ranger, Taco, Colorado. They are all much larger than their former selves. For a long time I thought I wanted an F-150 when I was done with the '97 Ranger. Now, not so much. F-150 is too big for me. The new Ranger is big, but so much that it can't fit in the garage.

So thief can't crawl through it I'm told...right...a hammer to the side glass is too much work...

I'm fine with the size I just wish the bed was a little lower. I can't reach over the side an grab anything. Instead of raising the front to match the rear I'd like to lower the rear 2" or so.

I started out looking at Canyons (preferred) and Colorados for the towing capacity. Then I drove a Ranger and was done. Just before pulling the trigger, I drove a Taco. Just anemic and dated. I concluded that the 'mini-truck' was over and Toyota did not get the memo. Now the minis are coming back. C'est la vie.

At the end of the day it goes to mission. I wanted at least 6K# towing, the extra 1500# on my Ranger is some great headroom. I also wanted 4WD and the TMS on the Ranger was just over the top.

My biggest issue was the lack of a TBC option. Now that (after mucho tears and cursing) I have the Redarc/Lumen installed with the control next to the TM knob, I am a happy camper--literally. I plan to do a lot of camping at the beach, bed facing the surf, up out of the way of sand fleas :please:

Yup, no more crawling through the sliding window with the new Ranger. I haven't tried yet but, it came in handy once or twice with the only body style.

I've always thought this was a fun picture. Lone is on the right. I parked in the back row away from everyone and when I came out they were having a family reunion. :)

A good example of how a photograph affects perspective. The 2 Super Duty's are exactly the same size, yet the one on the left looks substantially larger.
