I mean we were state # 5, older than some of you guys....
I live next door staying out because casinos grab too much . Besides our beaches are better and easy to get to .

Well it is true we are better than most of our neighbors, the Mass-h*les, the Nawyuckers who fall asleep in the left lane (an when I wave w/o using all my fingers, they display handguns!), the VT & NH we understand they suffer from the same thing we do....traffic on 95 & 84, side streets when there is an accident (damn WAZE!). We are nice to Maine-iacs bc if we "wave" they actually will use their firearm, which has a range of 1,000 meters (....and can shoot, drive and drink an IPA at the same time!).
But on the positive side, look what the state has given us: all the best firearms were built or are still built here; first swords and sabers came from here too; (both these items before their parent companies moved to China); we build the best submarines in the world, and my hometown sports Mr. Bushnell's grave site. Speaking of my hometown, we gave Lyme Disease for a generation of research scientists to study (actually Plum Island [--> NY] gave it to us) {that is a f**ked up disease, my apologies!!} and finally we gave you casinos to take away your last dime (or Indian-head nickel...get it!) and the Native Americans have the last laugh. Actually a (VERY!) small percentage of them! So why do you hate Connecticut again?!

I have lived all over this great country (NY, CA, MI) and I gotta say CT fine for me. Close enough to NYC / Boston to enjoy them, but also far enough away where you don't have to deal with them on a daily basis. I've been here 8 years now and I dig it.

So then why is CT missing from the list of New England states on the subforum?

I guess the admin had a coin toss between Tri-State and New England.

I don't like the taxes and the lack of think-out-of-the-box ways to lower the tax rolls and keep up with the Jones' (e.g., legalize weed and put tolls at the borders). We are thinking western NC near the Mtns, but NE (esp. CT) is the place to attend grad school if you want a pedagogical career. Until I'm done, I'm stuck here....

I think we are NE well before we are tri-state. That is just a marketing term for car dealerships!
