After we lost our first dog, I was so heartbroken that I said I wouldn't go through with having another dog and dealing with losing them. Now I have two rescues and I spoil the hell out of them.

Every time I lost a dog, I said that I'd never get another one. I can hold out about 6 months with the empty house before I start looking for another. They are such great company.

When my last dog passed as much as I loved her, I dreaded coming home. So it only took 2 weeks to have the girl I have now. If I have waited she wouldn't be in my life. NO REGRETS

NotBudule, fell your pain, somewhere a dog is waiting for someone like you, maybe these to, I would bring them to you, can you say road trip.
This is Linus and Peanut just waiting for the right human to take them home. They are at our local humane society. They were also on our local radio Friday afternoon.

Why are these two still here? Linus and Peanut are five year old brothers who would make anybody's life complete. They are friendly, walk nice on a leash, good with anyone they meet, love car rides, visiting nursing homes and schools and most of all giving you all their love. They want a home together since they have never been apart. Please fill out an application from effinghamcountyhumanesociety.org if you would like to add these two to your family.

Some more pics of the Cheech-o-rama from our overnight trip mentioned here.
Cheech had 7 different homes in the two years before we got him. Including 2 dog rescues, a vet's office where different techs would take him home at night, and even a city dog pound! He's definitely traumatized by it all and isn't very social (once he's nipped at your boot a few times, he mellows out and will actually let you pet him).
He's a 20 pound mix and here's his updated DNA:
What an update! When it was first done (2 years ago) he was:
Maybe he's an alien and a shapeshifter, that's quite a change! All that from an $80 DNA test.

Frank , total goofball , acts like he's been here his whole life , friendly and smart , not sure why he wasn't adopted but it wasn't his personality, he is a sweetheart ! Seems like we are already old friends , he was the one the wifey saw on the Facebook page and the reason we went ...
Jada , while wifey was going back to see Frank , this girl latches onto her all timid and scared and wouldn't let go , shelter lady said somebody dove by in a car and threw her out the window at the shelter , as you can imagine , she has a little trust issues, but is already improving, and not so timid either, once in the car and paperwork signed , she attacked Frank ! They playing now though , all is well ?

Not sure what all Frank has in him , he is stubby though , short front legs , factory rake just like the ranger ! Somebody surrendered him and paid for his adoption fee , so he was free basically , and he has been babied , you can tell ... sits , shakes and lays down , they are both truck shy , neither one wants to ride yet , but that's understandable considering their last experience in vehicles...
