he looks happy! at 16 he is still very young ? he has a much longer life span than humans if i remember correctly.

Hi Mark,

He will live 80 to 100+ years....He is in our trust to be placed in the Tucson Sonoran Desert Museum's tortoise adoption program upon our passing. The Museum has strict requirements for adoptive custodians to meet. He will be in good hands..

I would like to clarify one thing about Tito...He was born into captivity. He was not "stolen" from the desert. Arizona law requires captive tortoise to remain captive their entire life. Two main reasons

1. These tortoise are fed and loose their ability to forage for their food
2. We humans handle these tortoise and as we are virus carriers we pass these beguine viruses to the tortoise. AZ Game and Fish has a goal to keep the wild population virus free by requiring captive tortoises to be in the hands of designated custodians as Tito is with Margie and me.

The morning we participated in MI tech parade of nations here in Houghton MI. Pep band members coddling our muts. I'll post more as I process them. Kids away from home sure like that.

it would be interesting to be a dog that is well cared for at least a day. get lots of attention and tummy rubs, sniff a few pretty girls crotches without getting maced or tasered, take a good nap while others work. get snacks and treats for free all around town.
