A few topics:

Ford is definitely all in on Electrification to the line up, hopefully not to the detriment of quality of ICE drive trains.

Ford seems to have a valve clearance issue on the Bronco with the 2.7L motor. Can't remember how many vehicles are effected or if there is going to be a full recall.

Going by this statement, it seems that the NHTSA believes that the failure of the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine in the 2021 Bronco is related to a faulty valve in said engine. The NHTSA has determined that the failed engines did so disastrously, such that the cars failed to restart after numerous attempts were made.

Jim Farley is saying Fords ICE are to complex.

With the current trend of the electrification push ( more vehicles becoming electrified, subsidies and tax breaks being created/extended etc. ) its inevitable for the ICE side of the business to take a back seat eventually. I can't see that happening THAT soon if it does. I have to think at least some of the reason for them splitting up companies into ice / electrification is because of the gamble involved if the certain variables cause a kink.

So far, a total of 32 Bronco owners have filed complaints with the NHTSA regarding engine failures, though Ford estimates that 25,538 vehicles may ultimately be affected.

In some way's this is a good hopefully shake up for Ford. The engines will be sorted by the time the Ranger comes out. It has not been finalized that the 2.7L will be offered in the Ranger for NA.

We will have to see if the Ranger is affected by Ford's new direction.
Ford working to drastically cut vehicle configurations and options (msn.com)

Who knows maybe Ford will go with the ROW configured vehicles on the Ranger.

The reduction of options on the Ranger will happen at an accelerated rate. The previous Gen proved that as the Ranger moved on in years certain options were removed.

PHEV is way things should go IMO if electrification is inevitable
give a car 40-50 miles of EV range and keep the ICE for anything beyond that

I think the ICE should continue to be improved for efficiency. I think there is a lot still left on the table in that regard.
