Hello everybody!!! This is my first day/post on here. I've looked everywhere on here before I joined and could not find exactly what backspace and offset is acceptable for my pickup. Not sure if it matters, but I have the Lariat with the Sport appearance package 18" machine with magnetic pockets currently which I'm going to take off and sell. I'm just looking to make my truck unique. I'm looking at a 17" wheel, but need to know the details of what would fit. All I have found is the lug space is 6x139.7, right? I would like if the wheel sat out a little more than what I have now.

Thanks for any help!!!

Hey Sugar,

The bolt pattern on the wheels is in fact 6-139.7. I have 17" Black Rhino Chase wheels that are 9" wide on my truck. The wheels have a +12mm offset so they sit just outside the fender well as you can see by the image of my Ranger XLT below. Hope this helps.

Great, I haven't seen those. I'll have to look them up. Any pics of the wheel? Also, what backspace? Or is that not too important?

Most wheel companies go by offset now instead of backspace. My wheels with a +12mm offset have a backspace of 5.5". Here is a link to a some great information about offset and backspace.

Here is a link to the Black Rhino Chase webpage. The Chase comes in two colors matte black and brushed gunmetal.

Welcome to the site, @SugarWolf ! As mentioned, 6-139.7 is the bolt pattern ?

Generally speaking, an 8.5-inch wide wheel with 0 offset to a 9-inch wide wheel with +12 offset are the most common options if you want the wheels to poke outside of the fenders slightly.

Higher offset options work too, it all depends on the look/stance you're going for.

Great, so the two sizes available are 17x8.5 with 4.75 backspace and 0 offset or a 17x8.5 with 5.46 backspace and 18mm offset. I would like them to poke outside of the fenders more.

The stock wheels are 93.1 and some aftermarket wheels have a 106 or 106.1 center bore. I have hub centric rings for my wheels that are 93.1 x 106.1 and they are plastic and were only $12.99 for the set of 4. Definitely something you'd want to get if you go with aftermarket wheels IMHO.

The 17x8.5 0 offset is going to sit 2-1/2" further out towards the fender when compared to where the factory wheel sits now. According to our measurements, this places the front lip of the wheel about 1-1/4" outside of the fender.

The 17x8.5 +18 offset is going to sit 1-3/4" further out towards the fender when compared to where the factory wheel. sits now. According to our measurements, this places the front lip of the wheel about 1/2" outside of the fender.

With regards to the hub bore, nearly all of the after market wheel are going to have a larger than stock center bore diameter. This is strategic by the wheel manufacturers so that a single part number can fit multiple vehicle applications. As Rinn noted, hub centric rings are commonly run when this happens.

You can read more on hub centric rings HERE.

We sent you a PM as well ?
