Installed a temp level kit.

Hauled flooring along with a bag of mortar for my daughters fixer upper .

It was a smooth ride for the 30 minutes from store to house.
The Ranger has been earning its keep on this project.
I see your damper fully exposed there.

I read that post as “daughter” and not “damper” and I thought what the heck kind of comment is that? ?‍♂

I must be time for a coffee. ?

Great shot of the moon with the ranger.

Dare I say it?

I see two heavenly bodies in that shot!

(and I don't mean your reflection, Cabose-1, although I could be wrong) =D

Did some truck stuff - recovery gear was involved.

IMG_5032.jpeg

Power tools were also involved…

IMG_7623.jpeg

Then, a quick coffee break and a bit of chainsaw maintenance (sharpen saw, fill oil reservoir) while the battery was re-charged…

IMG_5036.jpeg

Then, some manual labour was involved…

IMG_5038.jpeg

I’ll cut and split the rest after lunch and then stack it to dry.

Cottage Life is definitely not just Sunsets and S’mores. Good thing I have a truck that can help me out when called on. ?

I scheduled an appointment with Line-X to get the spray-in bedliner done. I went with the "Premium" option because I don't know if I'll put a cover or cap on the bed, and I want it to look decent. This is the second item on my "Modifications List" (the first was installing Go Rhino sidesteps right after I got the truck).

Some of my friends think I'm crazy (well, I sorta am ) but I can't wait to start doing this again! I really miss cutting/splitting and boring wood. We're putting in a zero clearance wood burning fireplace and I've already bought a new chainsaw, log splitter and bunch of other yard tools. Annie's not the only one who can go on shopping sprees! ??

I really should have bought that log splitter I was eye-balling when it was on sale. Oh well, I can always use the exercise and there’s something strangely satisfying about splitting wood. ?‍♂

I'm glad I got mine when I did for $999. Splitting by hand is great exercise but I don't want to be splitting 3-4 cord every year that way. ? Heck, my new Echo CS-590 saw weighs 13lbs dry and that'll give me enough of a workout. Might even help build some strength back in my weak damper arm. :frown::muscle:

Get some chainsaw chaps to go with that saw. My CS590 is about 10 years old and has been a great saw. My house takes a lot of wood to heat, so I designed and built a comfortable left handed splitter to handle it

For anything under 12 inches I switched to Milwaukee battery saws. Tried a dewalt first but it wasn't good

That's one sweet splitter you made! That loading ramp/shelf is really nice too. Makes splitting so much easier on your back.

Yes, chaps are next on my list. I never wore them before but now that I've made it this far in life I'd rather be safe than sorry. I had a really nice Husky 262 XP years ago and am now kicking myself for selling it. :headbang: Unless you buy a pro grade saw both the Husky & Stihl are all plastic casings where as the Echo is still a magnesium main case plus it has a 5 year warranty. I picked it up a couple weeks ago (haven't has a chance to try it out yet) where one of the local places was having their Echo Deal Day sales. All Echo products were 15% off so I bought the chainsaw and a nice backpack blower.

A hard hat is also good to have for dead standing trees. I had all Stihl pro equipment and dumped it for Echo about 10 years ago. Mine had nothing but electronics issues because it was when they started making coils and electronics in China. Got tired of replacing parts. My Echo equipment has been bulletproof and starts easy. Now anything under 12 inches I cut with batteries and that's definitely the way to go. I'm waiting for a CS590 electric equivalent. Bailey's has decent chains cheap if you buy 10 at a time.
