Hi Folks,

I finally picked up my Ranger today after 48 hours to accomplish a 0.4hour TSB. The dealer service writer indicated the dealerhip needed Ford's approval to do the update and then performed TSB 20-2033...not TSB 20-2339...hope this was a typo. Anyway...the Ranger is now home...we will see if their update improved the cold start surging.

You guys with 3D printers sure have a lot of fun. Just don't think the wife will me have one. :(

There's a fix for this? I absolutely hated this last winter and as it starts to get colder in New England. This is starting to occur more often again.

Hi Folks,

I got my Ranger ready for its sleepover at the dealership tonight. Since they need to cold start it, I have to drop it off in the service lane tonight and put the fob in the key drop... Not real happy that Jim Click Ford will not just reflash the PCM and be done with it....

Had the PCM re-flashed almost a week ago...runs much smoother and no surge when leaving a stop sign or crossing 3 lane road.
My local dealer just did it. No need to drop it off. I do think they went on a little test drive and more than just around the block. I didn't mark the mileage, but it just seemed like it had been driven more than needed.
At least it is running better now.

After 43 years I don't want to have to break in a new one.
Hmmm See how good vehicles are, 1,000 miles and broke in. Wife: 43+ years and countless miles, and still breaking in. ?
