First oil change today performed by me at 8891 miles. Went with Mobil 1 oil and filter. $39 5 gallon jug was on sale at Autozone for $22. Grabbed a Mobile 1 filter and 2 more quarts. Put in right at 6.2 quarts with filter change and is spot on according to the dip stick.
FYI when you pull out the oil pan plug, the oil will shoot out a long way. LOL.

Hi Folks,

I got my Ranger ready for its sleepover at the dealership tonight. Since they need to cold start it, I have to drop it off in the service lane tonight and put the fob in the key drop... Not real happy that Jim Click Ford will not just reflash the PCM and be done with it....

Best,

That is a good question after looking at the dipstick again. There are hashmarks on the dip stick then there are two holes on the dip stick. One hole is at the bottom of the hashmarks and the other hole is about 1/4" or so above the hashmarks. My oil level is shown in the pic below. About 1/2 way between the top hashmark and top hole. I assume this is the proper fill level since I put in 6.2 quarts as recommended.

Washed it and found some rock chips from the 1200 mile road trip just did, so that was a bit saddening but with a few scratches and chips slowly turning into...well it’s a truck it’s character

Installed Ford /Deezee tailgate damper.
It literally took 5 minutes!
Easiest and most rewarding mod for the Ranger imho.
I dont get why it didnt come with the Ranger in the first place, or at least include it in some package options.

You really should have a talk with Roush. This should've been added with their performance package. I bet it adds more hp than their CAT back and CAI combined. ? ?
