Decided to check out my tailgate extender for fitment. I must say, it sure seems stout. Fit is a bit loose but when loaded and things are strapped down, that won’t be as bad. Adjustability is good and I can still get the rear canopy window open when it’s set up in “vertical” mode. The unit requires two hitch pins - one for the receiver and one for the support crossbar but it only comes with one pin. I have a locking pin and a regular pin that came with my receiver shackle but others would be wise to make sure to have a spare pin. There is reflective tape on the crossbar, which is helpful.

Unboxed…the battery is just for scale - beefy tubing.

Horizontal….hey @LaBalbe - zoom in on the edge of the bedliner and you’ll see something sitting there just for you. 😄

I will likely use it when I rebuild the deck on the boat shed at the cottage. The Ranger gets to do more truck stuff - nice! For now, it was just a dry fit to see if I’d be keeping it, which I will be doing. 👍
I've thought about one but haven't had the need yet so appreciate the info.

I did some parts cross referencing using parts catalogs to determine sizes and find a nearly cheap and alternative to big brake kit i want to do. I found that silverado/escalade 14" rotors will work best. This i believe to be the most reasonable solution as i tried looking for vendors that sell 14" rotors for ranger bug brake kits all i found was full kits, and rotors not sold individually which i think is a bad practice. The escalade rotors can eaily be found at a parts store. Stop tech rotors cost 100 bucks eac. They have the thickness of mustang gt rotors with mounting surface a measurements nearly identical to rangers minus hub bore. Hub bore will have to be bored from the 78mm to 93mm which should be easy enough with a router or taking to a machine shop. Calipers i will use are 4 piston mustang gt calipers can be got for cheap on ebay which means youll have a plethora of brake pads available not to mention same mounting points of a 6 piston if wanting to go bigger later. Also again the ease and availability of getting parts locally without some huge markup is what im going for

Very handy item to have. No photos on the Ranger, but super helpful for the 16 foot 83lb beast kayak. I used for it a bunch of other things too, but the kayak was the inspiration to buy it.

Rotors from escalade are same bolt pattern. Ita the centre hub bore that needs to be increased. Ill add a 6mm spacer behind the rotor once bored. The 6mm difference is from rear face of rotor to front face where it meets the wheel. The reason requiring these is theyre a 6 lug version of mustangs so pad wear should be identical to say factory. I still have to do more research and see what thread pitches to lines and everything but in theory everything should be quite easy and cheap of an upgrade. Most importantly ease of parts acquisitions.

O also why say you cant go to ford and try and get ford bronco raptor stuff and fit it. It wont work. The bronco raptor is basically an f150 raptor underneath. Ive cross referenced parts and what parts are used in other vehicles and most everything why i say its basically an f150. Either way this would be better as youd have 4 pistons over slide calipers.

You lost me at boring out the hubs.

I meant calipers... will the calipers bolt in or need an adapter.
