What are you guys towing?

very nice! Is your keel weighted? That’s the biggest regret I have on mine. I’m in freshwater but the 1500lb keel pin failing would put her on the bottom quickly.

Yep, keel weighs 600 pounds. My rigger recommended raising it at the dock after each sail, so it's a nice little workout at the end of the day.

I should look into paying my marina for hauls and launches. They aren't very communicative though, and with my lifting keel I'm not sure that they would do things right.

But yeah I'm reaching the point in my life where I have money but less time than I used to, I'd rather go cycling or something, than haul the boat ;-).

No coolers available and none are needed. Factory setup does just fine, and what your gonna be towing won't put any strain on the factory system.
I tow more than twice your estimated weight with no problems at all.

+1 on this - we tow 6k lbs all over the place - steep grades, off road - over 30K just towing so far. The only issue we've had is trying to pull steep (>10 degree) grades in 4H with the AC on. That will throttle us down and throw the dreaded "wrench" icon on the dash. Turning off the AC and switching to 4L gets us going again with no issues (except a harsh reminder to get into 4L sooner next time). Here's a pic of us up above the Big Sur coast after pulling some 14 degree grades (that's 14 on the truck monitor, not some idiot sign).

That is heavy for a single axle trailer !!! It's what....19-21 feet ?

This is a Black Series HQ15, with some mods. It is designed to go off-road, so everything from the hitch on back is pretty heavy duty, and the capacities are expanded for extended dry camping. There is a bit of wood inside, but the "box" is pretty much all aluminum (diamond plate below, sandwich aluminum/epdm up top, aluminum studs, etc.). This plus 400Ah Lithium, 68 gal fresh water, larger inverter, wheels, tires, generator - plus extra tools for dealing with off-road situations. It all adds up, but we make it down the road just fine. Baja twice, just got back from Canada, lots of trips in the western states. Your rig looks amazing - formal campgrounds are not our cup of tea. Here's us on the way to Canada a couple weeks back on Yurok Land....

Years ago we would boondock fairly often, but we're in our 70's now and appreciate the full hook up campgrounds. We avoid large cities, stay at mostly rural type places near small towns and villages. We'll stay for a week and use it as a base, visiting the areas and towns around it.

Was towing this - Aliner Classic. Towed great with the Ranger, but was getting to be a bit tight size-wise for us…

Upgraded in August to a Micro Minnie FLX 2108 DS. Perfect size for us, and the truck still handles the extra weight just fine especially with a decent WDH, but definitely takes a bit more planning for fuel stops.

Oh no... What happened to the Bronco?

We had a shock literally explode during testing. It's pretty mangled, so the safest thing to do was trailer deep into Johnson Valley (just above Hammertown) load up the Bronco in the middle of the night and take back to civilization to dissect at the office.
