Wax did not polish all off, will it damage paint?

It was just above freezing & I decided to wash & wax the truck.
This is the first time I used ceramic turtle wax & first time I ever wax at this temperature outside.
Well, I'll never do that again. Anyway, I applied the wax , rubbed it off, it looked good but then
I noticed wax was still on. It looked 'greasy' from the side view.
Should I be concerned about the paint?
Should I just use dish soap & wash it off?
I wanted a good protection for the winter months.

Tks.

If you haven't dirtied the truck up yet, just use a clean and dry microfiber to buff the rest of the excess wax off.

Low temps were probably the problem. Most indicate 50-80 degrees for proper application.
303 Graphane I use states cold temps may not allow it to "cure" and haze/dry...probably the same for the ceramic products.

Quick detailer will remove it. No effect on paint.

Just use a steel spatula and scrape the excess off. Easy peasy. After wards you will never be bothered about excess wax on your rig.

If you can get a heater and warm up your garage or maybe find a friend who has one heated. It'll make removing the wax much easier once it's warmed up. Plus you don't want t be applying any speed detailer if it's still that cold or you'll have the same results with greasy streak marks. Also use a new microfiber towel and not a used one so there won't be any residue coming off the old ones.

To be honest; try this...with a ceramic product you are describing "High spots". And no, it does not damage the paint. Most SiO2 products recommend ~50+ on the temp for it to properly flash.

When it's a bit warmer, reapply the product in those specific areas and see if it "rehydrates" the high spot and it should be easy enough to wipe away.

If that does not work, since it is a ceramic product, you will have to lightly polish. And no; dawn, strip wash will not touch SiO2.

I use Adam's Polishes Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating if you ever want to try it out in the future. The above method works for it, no guarantee on other products.

Joe offers some great advice here but don’t worry about scratching your truck - your number one priority is getting the wax off - besides, you can always touch it up with this.

I have to say, Megawatt had a great idea & thank God Dukecanbuildit suggested
the touch up paint/method! ?
Yes, the cold was the issue, should have read the instructions.
What was in the sun polished off fine, in the shade, not so much.
Truck is filthy. No warm place.

Happy to pass on useful tips.

I washed my truck this afternoon - almost grabbed my detail spray out of habit but thought of this thread and decided it was fine without it - thanks!
