Ive got this water sloshing sound in my ranger. Its noticeable almost every time I start up my truck.. even my passengers ask about it. It sounds exactly like I have a partially filled gallon of water in my glove box. I dont exactly know what triggers it.. however it is no doubt coming from the AC system. Whenever i engage AC i can here the compression pipes under the dash loud as hell, even if the radio volume is at a normal listening level.

Ive seen only one other post about this.. but the guy had a severe leak in his sytem. Mine is defintaely not leaking.

I just want to know if this is normal or if i should take it in to get checked out.

Thanks!

That sounds more like air bubbles running through the water in your heater core tubing. Have you checked your coolant level?

Mine does it too, there's a pump in there that moves the coolant during auto start/stop operation. I'm guessing there's air in the system, and it's just normal. I haven't noticed my coolant level change, and I'm nearing 20K miles.

I have not checked my coolant level, but i cant imagine that it has changed. Ive only put 5000mi on my truck. The AC functions normaly as it should, and i really dont use it all too often. I figured it was normal but thought i would see alot more people cimplaining about it if every ranger had this same sound.
