So I finally got a little 5x8 general purpose trailer for hauling around my 4 wheeler.
It isn't too burly (Carry on 5X8G - rated at 2000 total trailer weight - trailer weighs 325).

I've already decided to install my own planks (its expanded metal).

My question is this - with this trailer being pulled down some pretty rough roads (washboard/washout, large potholes, etc) would it be prudent to get a more robust, wider tire? The ones installed are 4.80x12.00 and look very....thin lol. A wider tire might be a better choice going down rough roads or is it even an issue that I should worry about?

Thanks!

It actually makes a difference. Just be sure to get tires that are rated for towing as well. I've seen tt with beefy off road tires made for boondocking. You decide whats best for you. But it will make a difference. Just again, make sure they are tow rated as well.
