Towing without sport mode

I towed for the first time today. A 20' bow rider around 5k. Lb. Someone siad you are suppose to use sport mode. I did not and only pushed the tow Button. Do you think I could have hurt the tranny?

Ask that someone to show you where it says that in the operations manual. It doesn't.

I do not think it will activate in sport mode, only in drive since they would overlap shift patterns and behaviors.

Bill, pushing the tow button is the correct thing to do. You did not need to do anything else. Except maybe give your owners manual a good read.

Ummmmm...... So whoever said to tow in sport mode clearly knows nothing about towing.... Simple as that......

Could towing in sport mode cause potential problems? Possibly but I'm not going to risk it and find out.
