I got the Ford Hard Rollup Tonneau cover installed this morning not too difficult. It took a little over an hour with some minor adjustments. First pic is as it sits closed. The second pic is showing when rolled up it displays Ford emblem. Note second pic is actually a F150

Ford Dealer installed this same tonneau cover on mine. I’m thinking I should of installed myself...paid $1200 with installation. I like it and looks great, but leaks a lot towards tailgate in heavy rains.

I was sold on this cover until I heard about the leaks near the tailgate and around the edges after the rubber gets older. But most of all what changed my mind was a video of someone trying to roll it up with freezing temps, Spoiler Alert, it doesn’t want to roll.

Question for everyone who's gotten one cover or another: how much space do you lose in the bed with the cover folded up? Some of them say the full bed is available, which I suppose is technically true of the space in the bed, but all of them look like they'd prevent a large item from going all the way forward. Since I want to actually carry large items in the back of the truck, I'm not sure which (if any) of the various covers will work. I wish I could just look at them all side by side, but the odds of that happening seem low. Right now it seems like the hard-folding would be the smallest, but I haven't seen any side pictures of one fully folded, and even a side picture can still be hard to see where the front of the bed is.

Many of them are quite easy to remove completely and put down in the bed of the truck or leave at home so I'd definitely check into that as well if you want flexibility.

Most if not all the hard folding ones will have the very front section (last pivot/fold point) hang over the front of the cargo area in the bed a few inches. The folded cover rests up against the back of the cab and held in place by retaining arms. The hard covers that roll into a box in the bed will eat up more cargo space at the front of the bed.

I have the same concern, but many of the covers remove to give full access. The question is how easy it it to remove the cover completely? I'm liking the peragon covers - they seem to remove easily and have a hard shell, plus they aren't terribly expensive. And they have a 100 day money back guarantee on them.

On the hard folding covers, most are easily removed by folding it up to the front, unscrewing the knob under each side at the front of the bed and lifting the cover off. The covers aren't that heavy. The rails stay attached on each side, but take up very little cargo space.

Do you have a favorite hard cover?

I just ordered the Bakflip MX4 for my Ranger. I picked it because is has a unique rubber seal at the tailgate end that allows you to open and close the tailgate with the cover fully closed.

I just took a look at that one and don't see a way to remove the cover completely. They show it folded up blocking the rear window (which most of the folding covers do). It looks nice, but I really want one that can be easily removed when I want to haul stuff in the bed without the cover.

Yeah, I'm just trying to get a better idea of what "a few inches" is. Like, 3? 6? If it came off easily that would cool also but I haven't seen reports on that either.

I am considering the Lomax cover by agricover. They say it should be ready in a couple weeks. They are testing now. Maybe I will have a truck by then.

Go to the Bakflip page and watch the installation video for the cover and you will see the 2 knobs I am referring to. I took my hard folding cover off my F-150 a few times. not an issue. Takes just a minute or two to take it off.

I see what you mean. Doesn't look too hard. I looked on their website and the 2019 Ranger isn't listed yet. Where did you order yours?
