I'm considering an STX SuperCab FX4 in Oxford White with the black trim. I think it would look good with a set of 17"x9" Fuel Shoks in matte black wearing 265/70 Cooper STT Pros with the white letters out. I'm thinking this combo should fit without a level, just a speedo calibration.

What do y'all think?

That'll look awesome.

I did something similar with my F150 and it KILLED the mpgs.

Loved the look but it dropped about 4 mpg
Unsprung weight makes all the difference.

For me, one of the reasons for looking at the Ranger is to save gas...there are other reasons as well.

However, honestly, I'll probably do at least a level and larger tires as well.

Try sticking with P metric tires to keep as light as possible to minimize the fuel economy impact. Going with the heavier LT tires will definitely take a hit on MPGs.

The P265/65R17 Hankook that comes on the FX4 is 37LBS, the LT265/70R17 Cooper is 45LBS. The stock 17” wheel is probably a couple of pounds lighter than the Fuel wheel, but the weight difference should be under 10LBS per corner.

Stock aluminum wheels on all the Fords I've owned have always been heavier than any of the aftermarket ones I've added, so you may actually have some weight savings going with aftermarket, even going wider. My experience has been on Super Duty trucks, Mustangs, and an Edge.

I like those wheels a lot, originally planned on getting those but decided that the 0 offset Rotiform was more my taste.

Here is a pic they shopped for me with those wheels.

I just did BFG KO2 265/70/17 in C class which were 45 lbs. definitely changed how the truck feels off the line but it isn’t so bad you feel like you’ve totally lost all pep. If you don’t off road just go P metric instead of a LT like the Toyo Open Country AC3.

mileage seems to have dropped 3-4 Mpg around town and 2-3 highway.

I did white letters out which I really like.

Black wheels aren’t for me. Gold is overdone. I like the 5 spoke in the grey.

All I did was get Good Year Duratacs when my factory tires wore out and they killed my mpgs. I lost all that low end pep too, I feel like I'm driving a Ford Tacoma lol. I'm not complaining though, the Duratacs doubled or tripled the off road capability. As they say 'Ya gotta pay in order to play".
