This is due to the digressive valving on Eibacks. I would have the same opinion as you if I had those shocks. I went Fox 2.0 on the rear immediately after purchase in 2021. I will be adding the Fox 2.0 fronts in a few months. The Fox's are definitely softer, though composed.

BTW, Bilsteins are also digressive and why I don't want those on my truck either. I know many love them, which is great. Everyone has different needs.
ya i wanted to try something different and had heard great things about them on this forum but at the end of the day i should have stuck with what i know.... live and learn sadly oh well

Just did Bilstein 6112's with 5160 rears. I like them better than my Fox's though the Fox's weren't really appropriate for my bumper/winch.
I may consider a heavier spring next season though.
just needed a different spring with the fox to be good with your bumper setup

now with the 6112s i ran those for years on my tacoma if you are running the oem spring rate of like 500? then ya you will need to bump it up to a set of eibach springs i had to swap to 700s on my bilstien setup when i ran it

I guess I should ask also. Should I get the sway bar disconnects? Or spend that money elsewhere?
this depends do you really want it? i plan to just remove my sway bar i ran without one for years in my tacoma ive just been to lazy to want to go out in the heat to pull the sway bar off lol

I have the arb summit with my fox 2.0 shocks, I was able to adjust the preload to bring the height back to where it was previously. I have approximately 30000 miles on mine and they feel like they need rebuilt, but they rode pretty amazing before that. I would have got with the deaver leaf springs but I don’t think they were an option when I was looking

What is your driving like? How much off-road and how smooth or rough are you normal roads?

I have Fox 2.0s on the rear with 25k on them and can tell they have gotten sloppier. Still no where near as bad as the stock FX4 shocks. I want to put Fox 2.0s on the front soon. I worry about the rebuild timeframe, removing and re-installing front shocks.

FWIW, I do have to rebuild my Fox mountain bike shocks often, but not really apples to apples.

I don’t know if removable sway bar links are worth it if you are just doing fire roads. It gives you more articulation but I don’t know if it will improve the ride on moderate terrain.
I hated the FX4 ride and leaf’s. Was like an old Cadillac. I have been happy with the Eibach and have run it in the desert pretty good. I didn’t really choose my setup it sort of chose me. I got a great deal from offer up on brand new Eibachs and Icon tubular UCAs and BDS shackles and a diff drop. A guys Ranger got totaled before he could install it and I took it off his hands.
My wife would complain if it was too jarring and so far she’s been fine with the setup. YMMV

I’ve noticed the front coilovers have been getting noticeably worse over the last 8000 miles or so, my rear shocks only started showing more slop over the past couple of months. My driving is mostly country roads, both paved and gravel, but I’ve taken them off roading in places like the silver lake sand dunes and Drummond island. I probably have around 300-500 miles off road in places like that. I also drive aggressively most places both because the fox shocks seem to ride better with speed and it’s fun. I’m going to attempt to rebuild them myself so I’m not without a truck for a couple weeks

So now I am kinda torn between the Eibachs and the Fox 2.0s. I don't do any high speed desert running but I also don't want a harsh ride either. Having to rebuild the foxes is kind of a turn off also, I am a mechanic but that means I want to work on my own vehicles even less..

Both Eibach and Bilstein do not require you to rebuild the shock. Also never seen a Bilstein fail easily. Can't say for the Eibach since I have never been around them

go for the eibachs. the 5100s feel a bit stiff compared to the stock FX4 stocks. most ppl feel the eibach is in-between the fox's on the soft side and the 5100s on the stiffer side.

This has been what I have found from my research on reviews... Bilstien too stiff fox too soft eibachs just right

I have the Eibach and am really happy. I went with the set that has rear resi.

I have a set of the BDS shackles that are brand new never used. I swapped tremor leaf’s into mine and got about a half inch of lift which I was happy with.

PM me if you want to buy the shackles or see my add in the suspension section.
Shackles price shipped to 78557 please !!

Having to rebuild the Foxes is why I went with the Eibachs. I know all suspension wears out but...

Depends on which ones you get. The Eibach 2R rears are linearly valved. I’ve got the Eibach Stage 2 kit (Pro-Truck-Coilover 2.0 front and Pro-Truck Reservoir Sport Shocks rear) on my Ranger and I’ve been pretty satisfied with them so far. These, plus the Icon rear leaf springs did a great job cleaning up the stock FX4 suspension.
