My build date is 08/19, but I haven't had the problem yet (73k miles so far). Is this pretty much a guaranteed problem? The previous threads on the topic make it seem like its just a matter of when for 2019's.

Not sure what I'll do if I develop it. I doubt they would give me a rental without warranty, particularly since I'm driving between states every week.
IIRC it only is for those who have dual climate control. I wouldn't say it's guaranteed to happen but it does seem like it's a very high probability it will happen.

I saw the original thread on this and just glanced over it. Then one day we were driving back from Mexico and of course it was 104 out and it broke. Only hot air coming out from the drivers side so that was a fun 2+ hour drive with more heat being blown on you. ? The only warning I had before hand was about a week earlier I heard a grinding noise coming from the lower center stack. I just did the temporary fix myself which is in this video here from the link I posted above. It's only a 10-15 minute job twice a year once you get the broken actuator out.

With the number of issues owners have in that thread I wonder if we could get Ford to issue a recall if enough people lean on them.

It seems some owners did get some coverage from Ford and knocked down the price in some cases to $100 or $400 instead of $2500+.

That would be nice but seeing as it was contained to the 2019 - early 2020's and there's an SSM out I doubt you'll see a recall.

Just think of all the ones we don't know/hear about. This forum only has 14,000 members which is a small amount compared to Ranger sales. I bet many more out there have this issue we'll never know about.

This is what I was wondering if was just climate control or if manual was also effected. I have the later with no issues as of yet. :please:

The seat belt clanging against the pillar gets me everytime. lol. Once I realize its just the belt, I let out a big "WHEW" ?
22 here has same passenger seat belt rattle, emptied glove box and noise still present, started banging dash and door panels bumped seat belt and found source - very annoying, at lease it's just a quick reposition and all is good

I seem to have the clicking on the passenger side, but no failure (yet?). See my thread here.
My truck is a 2021, built in December 2020.

My build date is 01/19, apparently isn't in the SSM, even though both the actuator and now upper heater box need to be replaced...

The SSM 49264 is applicable to all Rangers built on or before July 30, 2020 your 01/19 would still fall under this.

That's what I thought as well, but when I went to the dealer, they keyed in the Vin # and said it isn't included. B.S., but I had some inside information and it's getting fixed no charge now.
Can you report back with how it went and review on any collateral issues after you get it back.
Mine is going in next week for the 'surgery' :frown: hopefully yours goes well as mine does too.

Got mine back today. No squeaks or rattles. Truck nice and clean and everything working. They covered the cost of the new plenum, probably because it should have been replaced in spring when they did the actuator.... Get yours back yet?
