I'm late to this thread but can most certainly echo the same thing as the OP. My 2021 SuperCrew Lariat is the exact same with it being much more prevalent on the front doors. It was actually one of the first "odd" things I noticed after getting my truck, made very obvious every time my wife closes her door with enough force for all 4 (good thing she's only 120 lbs or I think my truck would be slammed into oblivion). I honestly never gave it too much thought. I assumed it was something that came along with thin sheet metal in the quest for weight savings. The doors feel pretty damn light to me. On that note, has anyone ever noticed how thin the sheet metal is just above the exhaust tailpipe? It looks like paper.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the '21's were stripped of some feature(s) that contributes to this. The longer I've had the truck, the more things I've noticed Ford has taken from the 5G each year as the production run continues. The well known middle bed tie downs has to be one of the most ridiculous and annoying ones I've seen. I still love the truck but those tricks just aren't cool.

Just did my driver side door with the Home Depot stuff. Night & day! My greatest hope is that it cuts the road noise. When I'm on the highway, I keep checking to see if there's a window open. The cars next to me are so loud and obvious. Looking forward to doing the rest. I think I may even do the tail gate.
Hi Brett,

I've added the Noico 80mm sound deadening to all my doors and rear panel. I've also added the blue camping mat found in this thread. Although the doors sound solid (that tinny sound has gone away), I still get quite a bit of road noise. Like you said, like a window is open....the way I would describe it is that other cars have a triple pane window, while the Ranger only has a single pane of glass.

The sound deadening alone won't help much with the road noise. As others have stated in other threads, you'll have to add closed cell foam (found in this thread). Hopefully that will cut down on the "open to the world" sensation. I'll be doing that to my doors once the weather cools down.

Good luck,

Daniel

First thing I noticed about the truck. Chalked it up to the doors being aluminum?. . .the cayenne I had literally sounded and felt like closing a bank vault

I just installed Dynamat on all four doors. The change is immediate and very noticeable. This might be one of my favorite and easiest mods for this truck. No more cheap sounding steel drum doors.
Was it difficult to get the interior door panels off? Thanks

Nope not too bad. There are two screws bottom of the panel. Two in the handle (have to pry the trim) and one under the trim panel under the latch. Then you need to pop the door panel off (needs a little muscle) and disconnect door latch, power window connections and maybe few more wires. Then carefully peel off the foam liner. Pretty easy.

If it really bugs you, here is an inexpensive fix under 20 bucks.

The doors are light and there seems not to be much sound deadening material upfront.
Please don't use the stuff in this video. Bitumen and butyl are not the same material. Especially if you live in a warmer climate you will regret sticking bitumen roofing material inside your doors.

Hi Terry,

Wife uses a bit behind the ears and under the neck...she switches be tween that and 10W-30 motor oil.... If we go out to a fancy place...it is only the 85W-105 gear lube...

best,
Phil

So not quite like a 60's door panel. Thanks.

You know, Kwikrete down the window channels would do it and add a more balanced ride with the additional added weight

Written it sounds harder than it is. All in takes maybe 5-10 minutes to get it off the first time and faster for the following doors.
Do I need to buy any spare clips? Did you break any?
