I can't believe they are trying to ban my gas cooking stove and wood stove. Next will be charcoal and gas grills along with smokers. This is one battle that I will fight to the end if implemented.

How about patio heaters at eateries and backyards, and the gas fireplaces.
Where does it end?

That's the problem it never ends. What are contractors supposed to do? We use those portable gas heaters when the seasons are changing over and there's no heat in the houses or additions. I also used them for garages so we could finish them during the winter and not have to go back in the spring and bother the homeowner doing 8-10 garages.

Just like gun rights, once they take one they don't stop until they have them all! ?

I think the main problem is using gas indoors with poor ventilation. Outdoor stuff probably wouldn't be on the radar, yet.

Well, you asked.

"Local governments in some states have gone even further than EPA, not only banning the sale of noncompliant stoves, but even their use as fireplaces. As a result, owners face fines for infractions. Puget Sound, Washington is one such location. Montréal, Canada proposes to eliminate all fireplaces within its city limits."

But it's not ALL wood burning stoves:
Has the EPA Banned Wood Burning Stoves in the U.S.? - Wood Heat Answers

No, the regulations that have been enacted by the EPA have only made wood stove manufactures produce a cleaner burning version that is sold in the US.

Funny thing is in New construction starting Jan 1 all fireplaces are supposed to be gas. Most gas units are non vented and 100x worst then a cooking stove for air quality. No more gas ATVs or OPE equipment by 2035 here also. The new law allows them to monitor your neighborhood and shut down woodstoves also if they want. That sure won't turn out good around here and we are preparing.

Well they're trying to do the same thing here too. We're lucky we live in the country on a few acres, and in our climate only need it for a month or two a year in the evenings in mid winter. Most people have one here, and no one complains. However owning a wood stove in the city now puts you at the mercy of your neighbors, if you have rabid greenies and too many complaints, then you have an expensive room ornament.

What problems exist with using a modern NG or Propane fueled stove / oven / cooktop?

So today our governor Hochul said she is banning using gas to heat any new homes built in NY supposedly starting soon. So fireplaces are out also. Said it's the main cause of global warming. I need a bottle of whiskey to figure this all out. The grid in our area is stressed now. I need to move. All hail the queen.

So, we need the government to tell us that running gas stoves, (like me) and non vented gas heaters is bad??? Pretty sure manufacturers already warned us on Owners Manual.

Here, in VT, they actually are encouraging us to burn wood and gas. Pushing heat pumps as well, I'm already on that ride and Lovin every minute of it. Please, don't anyone move here. It will cause global warming acceleration...
